Walked out to this island from Wells. FB at TF 9430 4396, then another a little further N. HP determined by Richard M with Abney at TF 94873 45228. Crossed to eastern past of Warham Marshes (could be a new SIB) on return picking up the FB at TF 9481 4443, S of that is a 10m wide channel to cross at knee depth - remains of an old bridge in evidence. Pleasant 11.5km walk with Rob W and Richard & Denise M. | jonglew | 20/10/2019 |
as per RHW and J Glew entries- lovely wild open marsh with cleaa light. | Denise | 20/10/2019 |
#4 of 4 from Wells. As per jonglew. Summit a lovely spot in sunshine, small scrubby dune at TF 94869 45229. We spotted Warham East marsh which seems to be a SIB too so returned that way; its highpoint a low grassy bank seemingly an old sea defence bank, level, e.g. TF 94982 44667. Stonemeal Creek crossing knee deep 90mins before low water on neap tide | RHW | 20/10/2019 |
Walked out on grassy track with foot bridges which extends N from Garden Drove. Fine expansive salt marsh with juvenile sand dunes on N coast. Returned S to visit the East section of the salt marsh (separated from W part by continuous channel so possibly a new SIB) High point on WNW - ESE vegetated bank. TF 94989, 44669. Fun wading the knee deep 15m wide Stonemeal Creek to regain the coastal path. | RichardM | 20/10/2019 |
Kayak from Wells. Fast flowing water pushed me up the creek mid-way through the flood. No very obvious summit. | AndyS | 03/10/2019 |
