Parked in Appletree wick to make it a bit longer, along the road, right into the lane and through the gate on the bend, up through another gateway and over a gate into the unfarmed top.clivevilla19/03/2024
At morning quick park at bend in road to the north 059 599, quick run up to summit with big and imposing flat Boulder just north of summitmatty1971b15/10/2023
rom Barden Bridge parking, space for 15-20 cars very popular on a weekend. via The Strid, Valley of Desolation waterfall, Simons Seat and Haugh. Duly ignored the no dogs allowed signs, and no sheep were worried, and no trace was left by Dog; if only same could be said for humans on occassion..Alfa1M26/11/2022
5th top of 6 on a route from Pateley Bridge to Grassington. Scrambled up from riverside path over wall and then waded through bracken. Surprisingly small summit area, Climbed over wall to escape the dense bracken and gain easy pasture then again to get back into woodland and then easy riverside path. Continuation to Langerton...Dazingdale18/10/2022
From riverside up good path past private signs and deer shooting box. Last bit round wall and through deep bracken.Flatfield25/09/2022
From Dales Way. Obvious path in woods near wall. Broken down wall leads through ferns to summit. Best done before they grow too high and obscure path. KeithByTheC08/06/2022
5 of 6: Parked at Masons Campsite. Along the riverbank and then up. With Karen.ChrisR21/04/2022
Morning run from Mason's Campsite along the river then up by the lookout tower in steady drizzle. Return along river to Stangs Lane and back along the roads. Cute looking little tump.Jake99421/08/2021
Parked briefly on the Dales way at the bottom of the hill coming down from Appletreewick. Along the river from the bridge then just before wood ends on RHS a diagonal path slants up the easier slopes of the wood (earlier approaches would be too steep). This leads to a wall and you turn right up a nicely cleared path beside the wall, past the look out tower and to a gap in the wall on left by a rowan tree. Then just about 40 metres of very tall bracken to the summit. Grateful for that path.nickywood119/08/2021
Parked at Barden Bridge then used the Dales Way to gain access to the summit path via the lookout tower to gap in wall then around 80 metres of bracken to gain summit so glad of my gaiters. Back via the minor road towards Laund House where there has been a land slip on the minor road to Storiths. OK for walkers so still en route to Bolton Park Farm then up track to North Nab trig pillar which has been half painted recently. Back down to the River Wharfe and along the path back to Barden Bridge for an 18 km walk.Dugswell230/06/2021
From Barden Bridge, up Simon’s Seat first. Path leads off Dales Way, climbing to Lookout. Into field and through Bracken to HP.PeterD29/06/2021
Roadside parking in Aptrick where a right of way leads down to the river. If the village parking is taken there is limited parking further west along the road just after Mason's campsite. Easy riverside walk to the wood west of the summit. As soon as you pass through the entrance gate into the wood a clear path upwards initially follows the wall then turns alongside the upper wall. Good path with open access into summit area.moorsman23/04/2021
A medley of 4 Tumps in 2 walks around Burnsall. For the first walk I parked on the road on the east side of the bridge at Burnsall and walked south along the Dales Way past Masons campsite to SE 057 595, there taking the diagonal path through the woodland up from the previously mentioned boulder, then onto the bracken covered summit of Haugh. Retraced route back past Masons to Woodhouse Farm, then following the bridleway onto the road through Hartlington and up the hill to Raikes Farm. Then along the FP thru 2 fields and left by the far side of the wall to the Trig on top of Langerton Hill. (S)silveracorn_alan29/03/2021
Pleasant walk along the river bank from Mason's campsite, west of Appletreewick.Attempted to find track following Aye Jimmy's guidance, but his grid reference seems to be near his parking spot.Eventually found path about 100 yards from northern entrance to wood.Clear path to wall gap and horrible bracken-covered summit field. No Covid restrictions were broken in the bagging of this tump. From north, lots of bracken near summit. Nicely enclosed by higher (and currently purple) fells.Wycombe Wanderer23/08/2020
Parked at bridge to the south. Then route through wood to fern covered summit.Alan Caine08/07/2020
Dales Way NW from bridge to boulder on path at SE 05961 59576. Diagonal track up wood to meet wall, followed this to gap in wall at top into brackeny field.Aye Jimmy14/06/2020
Parked 600m S of bridge at SE 0591 5869 although if lucky there's parking S side of bridge. Path N side of river, steep climb, brackeny summit. Nice crop of BMs nearby along road.RHW30/05/2020
Haugh from GR: SE 05891 60044. Parking is not easy in this area. Down Stangs Lane and followed Dales Way by river to wall at SE 05677 59609 then ENE through bluebell wood to summit on open ground.ronaldo33319/05/2020
At dusk from bend in road to the north 059 599, very straightforward up through 2-3 gates and on to dead bracken summit with very big and imposing flat Boulder just north of summitvegibagger21/04/2020
