From PROW to south, nice sign welcoming walkers to the privately owned woods. Highest point seems to be close to the edge of the woods on the southern side. | Swindon Bagger | 26/01/2024 |
I was lucky and found a spot to park in Shitterton. All the paths seem open for walkers and dog walkers are everywhere, so no worries about wandering off the RoWs. I followed the field boundary to the grid ref marked as the top but agree with jonglew that the cattle feeder looks higher. | DC11main | 13/08/2023 |
Parked in Bere Regis. Took the Hardy Way SW before joining the Jubilee Trail NW then a short walk over to the HP on the south egde of the wood. | fosal29 | 13/03/2022 |
Unsatisfactory in the sense that the HP is quite uncertain. Possibly at south side of mixed woodland. Also visited spot height of 98m to South on heathland. Round trip from Bere Regis- clear chalk-bed streams with watercress beds and autumnal berries a delight | Denise | 31/10/2021 |
From Bere Regis. A large, level hill top with pine tree mast close by. Cul-peppers Dish, a couple of miles to the SW, with very nice car park and picnic area is worth a visit - a sort of anti-Tump. | RichardM | 31/10/2021 |
Parked in west end of Shitterton. Track to mast (not ROW) obviously used by dog walkers, so is a convenient route. | PGCE | 19/12/2020 |
Roadside parking in Shitterton (locals don't seem to accept this is a publis road!). Difficult to determine a definite HP - possibly in the field SW of the camouflaged phone mast, or the cattle feeder at SY 83300 94741. | jonglew | 22/09/2020 |
Large oak at S edge of woodland. From E, Shitterton village (at least one house omits the h!); RoWs, then path in to wood just uphill of Walkers Welcome sign (Tilhill Forestry). | RHW | 04/06/2020 |
