Parked at main car park for Oversley Wood, to get to it drive south down Trench Lane (marked as such on OS Explorer 1:25000 maps).Take the tarmac track on the right (Arden way goes down it). The track goes under A46 and small car park with access to Oversley wood and Alcock’s Arbour. Lovely little hill.Malcvolm02/04/2023
Parked in layby by Woodedge. If you walk a few yards up the entrance drive there is a grass track which allows farm machinery and me to access the wood without having to brave traffic on the A46.DC11main06/06/2022
What a lovely 15 minutes through a rich carpet of orange and brown leaf litter on a drab winter's day. Nothing moving in the wood but must be busy with badgers snuffling around at dusk. Unlikely legends abound here concerning the devil dropping a bag of nuts -which made the hill (?) and equally un/likely stories of a robber (Alcock) in a cave with treasure protected by an attacking cockerel. True treasure stories here involve hordes of Roman coins and pottery found from a supposed temple on the NW slope. This little hill has it all.Chris Pearson13/12/2021
Very surprising little hill. Rises up steeply within the woodland. Deceptive because 4 x 5m.contour lines missing from the 1:25k map...!!vegibagger31/08/2021

Parked at lay-by on the A46. To avoid walking on the verge next to the road, there is a track on the other side of the hedge. Easy ascent after the second gate on the path. Even for July the undergrowth was no problem.JohnW05/07/2020
From lay-by to NE on main road. Along edge of wood at first then just through gate went into and up through woods. Faint track to top.PeterD02/07/2020

Parked in field pull-in in Trench Lane. Crossed busy A46 then straight into wood and up through pretty mixed woodland. Pleasant conical hill. Returned via fp to the east through field then back along main road.Campbell Singer14/06/2020
Incorporated into a 6 mile circuit from Oversley wood with Lesley first exploring Alcester and the WT reserve beside the River Arrow, returning through Oversley wood. I branched off on fp, climbing via Sw corner. Easy-going through deciduous woodland. Top beside tree. Attractive row of colourful bee-hives on Sw edge of woodland. Lots of Common spotted orchids on verges of woodland tracks through Oversley wood. Warwickshire re-completed. We headed off to look at the Dovecote in Kinwarton afterwards..Dazingdale30/05/2020
