Parking and route as PeterD. With the HP in the bag across to the trig | Andrew Simmons | 23/11/2023 |
From Spey Road, up FP and forest track. Out of forest and followed faint track by fence and wall east, then over both for final bash to the top, which wasn’t as bad as was expecting. Back out same way. | PeterD | 19/06/2022 |
Walked from Cornalees CP, lovely evening. | colazione | 27/03/2022 |
Up the footpath from Spey Road to the Blood Moss trig then direct to Studdel Hills summit, which was rough - and back W along the wall/fence on a boggy track. | sclater | 17/01/2022 |
Up the glen from renowned Wemyss Bay Station and on to White Hill and Blood Moss trig. Navigation more difficult now that powerlines and pylons removed. Accessed tump from Leapmoor forest track. Awful. | lordtonult | 30/12/2021 |
From Spey Road. Parked on busy road but no yellow lines. Path signposted. Through forest before breaking out onto boggy moor. Finally over bwf and through broken wall to encounter treacherous ground with thigh high heather and deep hidden holes. | Campbell Singer | 27/05/2021 |
From NW, track then quad track along S edge of forest, last 100m heather purgatory | RHW | 26/04/2021 |
From Wemyss Bay by path and track to Kelly Resr. Follow track beside Kelly Cut, where it turns sharp right leave the track and ascend tussocky ground towards the summit. Near the top cross a fence then it is rank heather to reach the summit. | bjewing | 15/03/2021 |
With Martin - sorry! Checked OSM aerial to see if we really made it to top but think we did - couldn't see anything higher. From NW track, grassy ride with faint path to horrid brash/heather-bashing to summit. Even worse way back down through heart of forest to N - absolutely soaked. Inverclyde re-completed. | iangpark | 03/11/2020 |
1st of 3 hills, this on a circular from the cul-de- sac on good tracks but then broke through the woodland to follow the edge. Tough going with very deep heather then over to the sumnit next to the tree. Continuation route even more of a problem due to hidden brash. Descended through a nice woodland track then past a school adventure area and then tracks back to the cul-desac and start. | Dazingdale | 10/09/2020 |
parked at forres place, track through the woods and along side of wall fence to the top. | robertphillips | 21/07/2020 |
A relief to reach the summit pole! Scenic walk from Cornalees CP but it seems a long way. | 49pp | 18/07/2020 |
Deviation from Clyde Coastal Path High Muir route. Turned off at right angle bend at bridge, then increasingly ghastly tussocky heather. Once inside the forest it gets much worse. Found an embedded stone 5 m from the summit pole which was maybe 5mm higher than the base of the summit post. On to Greenock train station via the CCP. Lovely views from various parts of CCP. | Thearlaichdubh | 12/07/2020 |
Long walk along the Kelly Cut from Loch Thom car park, a historical walk which I'd never done. The heather slopes up from the Cut were rough but easy compared to the stuff north of the wall, in which I struggled to maintain balance. Someone has erected a post of sorts at the summit and I would agree that there is something firm buried under the high point. | Colin Crawford | 08/07/2020 |
P Forres Place, along old Leapmoor Forest track then edge of trees. Swamp, basically. Deep heather to summit, then went over to revisit White Hill, which is a nicer spot & the heather is much easier S of the wall. Back via Blood Moss trig. Inverclyde & P01 recompleted. | agentmancuso | 04/07/2020 |
On 16 mile loop from home with Bert who declined to wade through the thick heather from the wall to the summit. Seemed a bit maddening that I had been along the track to the NW of the summit three times already this year, but it turns out the summit really isn't suitable for a run. | campagvelocet | 14/06/2020 |
From Wemyss Bay followed Clyde Coastal Path, high route, beside Kelly Burn then narrow road and track to NS 22234 69339. From there followed faint ATV track to ridge and on to fence and wall. After wall about 50 metres of deep heather to summit. Summit possible pile of stones in heather. | cmac | 13/06/2020 |
P Rosemarkie Pl. I tried to get to the top leaving the track NW of top - don't. Easier to follow the wall/plain wire and barbed wire fences marking the boundary of the forest. | chrisbien | 08/06/2020 |
Path from Inverkip signed Leapmoor Forest goes to Blood Moss trig and continues to Wemyss Bay mostly cycleable. Very rank heather at HP which is further NE and nearer to 219m spot height than indicated ,after crossing the wall/fence. | chalky1953 | 04/06/2020 |
