From gate opposite the copse at SD112840, along SE edge of field and through gate at top of field SD110838. No issues, not even with the cows.Isbjorn21/06/2023
The parking area before the crossing is no longer available so verge parking is necessary. The unmade up lane to Gutterby was very busy with farm traffic so I felt that using the aforementioned gate near the copse would be far too open to view. If you keep on the track a mud path leaves it alongside a second gate after 300m. Taking this means you are out of sight quickly and can walk along the summit ridge to the top unobserved and cow free.moorsman11/05/2021
From SE, parked before level Xing, field gate opposite copse, summit in pasture just above 2nd gate, a few cattle some way off, regular tractor traffic along farm track. Sunny afternoon with Black Combe's brown bracken contrasting with green pasture, and Isle of Man clear to W. 2nd Cumbria recompletion of the year - they're spoiling us :-)RHW20/09/2020
Dusk ascent by obvious route. Sign on gate at bottom of field warns 'Bul In Fie'. Summit exactly as shown in the picture. Sat in the breeze watching the last vestiges of the day as the cows sniffed and licked my shoes. Lake District Tumps compleat. PS I think one of the cows was a bull.Wycombe Wanderer17/09/2020
Parked on lane to Gutterby, went up what appears to be a track on the map, but lots of cattle and ends up a few fields S of summit. Returned more directly down the open fields below. Then an excursion to Annaside trig on coastal path N of Gutterby Farm.Aye Jimmy13/09/2020

1/3 Parked at end of access road near to the rail crossing, walked along North West footpath to choose best field access to summit. Continued North for two fields to pick up track back to the footpath and used the inland path across to The Hawes and then came back using coast path to Gutterby Banks . Very friendly farmer near summit of The Hawes had a good chat and was happy for us to visit summit.nickywood111/08/2020
