Scramble up east face to join the North face before summitThomasSmith_0713/01/2024
SMF day 2. Vis started promising but clagged in mostly at the top.Honcho4121/11/2023
Today, I joined Karen Webber, Richard Moore and Jason Fulton for the three Furths on the Glyders circuit. Parking at Llyn Ogwen, we ascended Tryfan (917m), one of the more iconic hills in Wales. Richard and Jason tackled the Canon Stone for a cool picture. The ascent of Tryfan was almost continual scrambling, which was quite draining, but once I ontop Richard bravely (stupidly....) jumped between Adam and Eve, the two stone boulders making the summit. I chose to stand next to Adam, the highest point. The descent off Tryfan wasn't fun and the easiest ascent up Glyder Fach (994m), took us up a scree path, rather than Bristly Ridge (I couldn't handle more scrambing). Walking over to Glyder Fawr (1000m) for the final hill of the day, then descended down into Cwm Iwdal, then back to the car, 8:30hrs all in. This is the final day of the OMC trip to Snowdonia, I bagged seven Furths, with only three of the fifteen Welsh Furths now remaining.chillyman823/09/2023

Parked at Gwern Gof Uchaf. With daughter and her fiance, and Dave Jones, a great guide. We went up the north face, using as easy a route as possible, and even in the perfect conditions we found it very challenging. We couldn't have done it without a guide. Unless you are a very experienced Grade 1 scrambler I would use the South face route.gbeniston03/09/2023

Finally managed to get Maisie to the top of Tryfan & complete the Furths. Summit was clear of cloud when we set off, but that changed half way up & the cloud & drizzle came in. Rock was rather greasy, so Maisie could not be as daring as she would have liked. Did the S summit too. Moel Siabod cafe for a celebratory tea.DanMaisieBex25/10/2022

Tryfan north to south - scorching weather and good grippy rockBarns15010/07/2022
Another adventure with Chris and Nathan. After camping in up by Lynn Idwall, we packed up camp and had an awesome morning scrambling up the north face of Tryfan. All of us jumped A&E. After heading down the south ridge, the weather came in a little, with fog and drizzle, so we abandoned Bristly ridge, and headed east along the Miner's Track (another one!) above Cwm Gwern y Gof the onto the east ridge of the Glyder range. After getting to the top of Glyder Fach, successfully locating the cantilever, we walked along the range to the base Castell Y Gwynt for some lunch in the sun. With a bit of itchy feet, I scrambled around the Castell when waiting for the others. A nice stroll along the top to Glyder Fawr, getting a few pics of the stegosaurus and the Llanberis valley then heading down the scree to the top of Devils Kitchen. Onne last slog up Y Garn, then down it's NE ridge (where some flags where set up for an upcoming ultra), quick v cold dip in Llyn Clyd to complete the loop in the rByronHaywood01/07/2022

Starting from Ogwen cottage past Bochlwyd to the Cwm between Tryfan & Glyder Fach. Climb to Tryfan & descend via same route to take the steep scree to Glyder Fawr (with Bristly Ridge on the right). Very icy conditions underfoot made the screen more manageable but a detour was made around Castell Y Gwynt (missing the top by 22mts). Glyder Fawr followed with final descent through Devils Kitchen.Route completed with M.Fabioski20/01/2022
Went up on my own, light snow on the ground, not many people around today. Finished off with a nice walk around Llyn Idwall.Buckleymon07/01/2022

Via Little and North Gullies during scrambling course4539nick01/10/2021
From road at Lake Ogwen followed path from car park up the western side of the mountain, lots of height gained very quickly then direct assault on the summit scrambling the last 350feet or so. Wet conditions made the scramble quite slippy, and there was very little visibility at the top, although the mist did part for long enough to see the drop below Adam and Eve. Difficult scramble down from the south to the saddle, then fairly easy to Bochlwyd and back down to the A5. Awesome mountain, proper climb.Stuzinho11/09/2021

From there continuing down to Llyn Bochlwyd, following the Nant Bochlwyd to the bottom of the waterfalls before taking a faint path north east towards the car. ~6Km with 731m ascent.VirtualMountain18/07/2021

Went up the Heather Terrace.PhoebeD15/07/2021
From Road parking East of Llyn Ogwen. Up onto Heather Terrace and on to South ridge for ascent to summit. Poor visibility, completely obscured on summit with rain. Slippery up and down. Visited Far South Peak then descended to Llyn Bochlwyd then down to road.Argentum6609/07/2021
Ascent via North Ridge from A5 at SH 6633 6028,to Tryfan, onto Tryfan Far South Peak then up to Glyder Fach via scree at side of Bristly Ridge, on to Castell Y Gwynt. (Well worth the scramble - this peak is deceptive when approaching from this direction and only looks like a small pile of jagged rock but opens out into the most spectacular climb once you're on it - on to Glyder Fawr and descent via Devil's kitchen and Llyn Idwal. A great, tough day, especially in the heat but a lot of great scrambling.lindslow13/06/2021
Ascended via the Heather Terrace. Visibility excellent.thomasrandall9630/05/2021
Ascended via gully on East Face, joining North Ridge just before North Buttress. Took path around east side of North Buttress before scrambling up boulder filled gully and final rocky sections to summit.southern_rambler22/05/2021

Did extensive research of this mountain prior to going up a freind and I scrambled the north ridge and around 20ft from the summit the weather changed gusts of wind and cloud, a few people on the mountain had turned back but these had knowledge of the mountain and routes to descend. We ourselves also decided to bail we began descending via the North ridge but we knew we had no chance getting down the nor nor gully we ascended and found paths just led everywhere Another women attached her company to us she said she had climbing experience and she led us down the west side of nor nor gully till we could get no further then moved along the side to y gully the gullys appeared promising we continued to descend y gully but came to 3 large rocks and a shear drop at this point I realised we was screwed and felt i was going to die if we went any further. We called mountain rescue whom came and airlifted us off. Ive climbed 100s of mountains but this is the 1st time I was absolutely terrified. CLauralj8406/08/2020

Ascent off route between heather terrace and north face. Found an easy gully to get up the Tower.petrhowrth17/08/2019
We parked on the roadside and headed up the path at Milestone Buttress. We weaved a path threw the rock and heather to the start of North ridge. Weather turned so we took the climbers traverse path and the grade 1 gully to the summit. Lots of hands on scrambling to the summit. we descended a path over the rocks and made our way back to the roadside. With Richie and MBZoe Little04/08/2019
