From large parking area just before bungalow outside Cynwyd: Bryn-llus; Pen Creigiau'r Barcut; Moel Fferna; Cerrig Coediog; Pen y lladron; Moel yr Henfaes. Sweltering day, for which we were ill prepared without sufficient water or suncream. Visited Liberty Hall but omitted the last 2 peaks we planned. Welcome meal at the Blue Lion at the end of the walk. | Lazylizzie | 13/05/2023 |
Parked in the layby on the B4401 at Cynwyd. Through the village, over the river and took the path to 055403, along the minor road then the track all the way up to just before the memorial stone at 091367, then over then fence and up to the summit. Followed the footpath along the fence all the way to Moel Fferna bagging the Simm of Cefn Perfedd and the Dewey of Cerrig Coedig on the way. Back down Moel Ferna to pick up the North Berwyn Way back to Cynwyg.12.67 miles. Fine walk. | JulieB | 02/10/2022 |

From Moel yr Henfaes [Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top]. Faint path to south of summit, then steeply up through heather and bilberry. | KeithByTheC | 02/10/2022 |
En route from Moel Fferna to Pen bwlch y Llandrillo, not as bad as it looks, after 20 meters there is a good sheep path to summit | Flatfield | 02/05/2022 |
solo | Fabioski | 23/03/2022 |
A minor detour through heather from main path. | Nick Canute | 06/03/2022 |
Indifferent day for weather. From forest above Cynwyd over Moel Fferna, Cefn Perfedd and Moel yr Henfaes. Contrary to map initial track towards Moel Fferna continues past forest edge to top of ridge, cut off it at an appropriate place. ridge path not up to much and descent track shown on map from near Moel yr Henfaes is in poor state, useful as a navigatiobn aid only. | dickscroop | 14/12/2021 |
B4401 near Hendwr - Moel yr Henfaes (Nuttall) - Cefn Perfedd - Cerrig Coediog - Moel Fferna - Cynwyd. | Mark Jackson | 26/10/2021 |

3/5 on a Dewey walk from Cynwyd. A clockwise horseshoe around the valley of Afon Trystion visiting Bryn-llus, Pen Creigaur Barcut, Moel Fferna, Cerrig Coediog, Cefn Perfedd, Moel yr Henfaes [Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top], Y Drum and Moel yr Henfaes. 22.6km with 1000m ascent in 6h20m. Parked next to the shop in Cynwyd (no restrictions on sundays) and followed the Nuttall route East with a spur up to Liberty Hall to take in Bryn llus, from here I pressed on to Moel Fferna, along the ridge taking in Cerrig Coediog and Cefn Perfedd before arriving at the Nuttall top of Moel yr Henfaes, from here I followed the hills over Y Drum and the Dewey Moel yr Henfaes. If your lucky when striking out for the last top you'll walk over a grassy track heading North East which will take you back to Cynwyd forest albeit having to cross a grazing field at 07959 39525 to access the forest tracks that you follow left back to the car. Fourteen and half mile in Six and quarter hours. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 09/05/2021 |
From Bryn Llus. With Andy.. Second ascent in 18 months. | Campbell Singer | 21/04/2021 |
Not much of a path. Very wet and boggy then heather. With B and R. | jenx | 19/12/2020 |
The 8 summits around Cynwyd Forest anti-clockwise with Rufus. Parked at far end of reservoir and took forest track to open hillside, used a mixture of fences and rough tracks for navigation but plenty of the round is in deep heather. A good logical round for the northern Berwyn and took just over 4 hours at a fast pace - 16km 700m ascent. | jacobrichmond | 01/09/2020 |
5/6 - long round from road at Nant y Dramwys Wood - cold. I/M rain. Weather deteriorated after dark - raining ++ at this summit - but ground is easy enough | wychwood | 15/11/2019 |

From a wild camp on Cadair Bronwen on a hot morning. Very tough going through the bogs. A short detour from the path to the highest point through knee deep heather. Wonderful rough and lonely country this. | Jake994 | 05/05/2018 |
From Cerrig Coediog, last hill on a half circuit from Cynwyd. Heather about 20m before small flat cairn. Rough track just beyond used to return to the forest road and a relief to get out of the bitter wind. | Aye Jimmy | 24/02/2018 |

Parked on forest road at 084,401. North Berwyn Way to Moel Fferna, then along horrendously boggy ridge to bag Cerrig Coediog, Cefn Perfedd and Moel yr Henfaes. Descent on very good track above Nant y Lladron. 8 miles, 1600ft ascent - just under 4 hours. | Crib Goch | 15/04/2016 |

Stick to tracks-avoid Heather. | apricorum | 05/09/2014 |
From single track road leading east from Cynwyd. Parking possible at junction with forest track. Pleasant horseshoe with minimal climbing. Bryn Llus, Pen Creigiau'r Barcut, Cerrig Coediog, Pen y Lladron, Moel yr Henfaes (Nuttall) Y Drm, moel yr Henfaes (Dewey). Good paths and tracks most of the way. | ijpowell | 31/07/2014 |
After Bryn-llus I went through Ceiriog forest on a forest track that lead me out onto the moorland heading South. I should have climbed over a fence onto another track that takes you within only a few metres of the summit but stayed on the track because it was faster and seemed to profile around the hill. It passed over the mountain stream called Nant Y Lladron and ended in a large field. I saw the error and could see the hill so I climbed over a fence and dropped down into the small gorge that the Nant y Llandrillo had cut and up the other side on a bearing to the hill.. I joined the track that I should have been on previously within 5 minutes. The track took me round to the Eastern Side. I left my Rucksack on the track and climbed the slope to the summit ridge. Lovely views from there. | Dazingdale | 04/05/2014 |
