From Glyntawe and then along the high level Beacons Way path. A superb cliff-edge walk on an extremely blustery but sunny day, taking in all the required tops of Fan Hir, Fan Brycheiniog Trig, Twr y Fan Foel, Fan Foel, Bannau Sir Gaer, and Waun Lefrith, returning via the cliff underface and its two sparkling llyns. Ascent from the A4069 of Garreg Lwyd (616m), to Foel Fraith (602m), Garreg Las (635m), Carreg Yr Ogof (585m) where explored the cave before heading to Waun Lefrith (677m) and return by similar route and this climbing all but Carreg Yr Ogof twice. Parked at GR 845223 and found a way across the river which could be difficult in a wet period. Followed a faint path towards the lake then up to the col.
