One little note: the recent SMC guide says that at Coileitir, 'follow a [mudbath] path on the left round the fence', which is also what a sign about privacy says. But there is now a big construction road around the right-hand edge, which is much more satisfactory.Pete R27/08/2022

Ben Starav, Stob Coire Dheirg, Beinn Nan Aighenan, Meall Nan Tri Tighearnan, Glas Bheinn Mor. Lovely day very warm and sunny. Still a tiny patch of snow at the head of the Corrie wall just to SE of summit. But if scrambling to Stob Coire Dheirg. Slog out and back to Beinn Nan Aighenan where I decided to do just the 3. Also had to drink from streams due to heat and sweating. Rest of walk was enjoyable. Time taken including stops 8 hours 50 minutes for 14 miles.isabelle06/06/2022
With Glas B M and nan Aighenan, widdershins from Coileitir. Beautiful day – smattering of snow/ice on highest tops, some sunshine, a little high cloud. After driving from Wilms and burst tyre, slept at head of loch Etive. Rounsfell21/11/2021

Ben Starav, Meall Cruidh, Stob an Duine Ruaidh, Stob Coire Dheirg, Beinn nan Aighenan, Glas Bheinn Mhor. Circuit from Glen Etive, avoiding the hydro works that are on-going.Geoff Briggs07/08/2021
Good hill day while staying at the Ochils Mountaineering Club cottage in Crianlarich over the weekend, bagging Ben Starav (1078m) and Glas Bheinn Mhor (997m), at the bottom of Glen Etive. As part of the circuit you also go over the Munro Top of Stob Coire Dheirg (1027m), I had planned on including the adjacent Munro of Beinn nan Aighenan, but in the end I didn’t fancy the +300m extra ascent for this outlier. It was a beautifully sunny day with a moderate SW breeze, 9hrs all in (incl. a nap on the 2nd Munro). The A82 trunk road was closed due to an accident just south of the Glencoe Ski Centre, so I turned around to go along the coastal route, only to develop a flat rear passanger tyre. Pulling into the Three Sisters viewpoint car park and after much faffing I got all the nuts off, but the wheel wouldn’t shift. When the AA man arrived, he whacked it with a mallet a few times and the flat tyre just fell off (I’ll need to pack a large hammer next time), I only got back to the cottagchillyman819/09/2020

From the road down Glen Etive along the track to Coileitir and the path along the SE side of Loch Etive. After crossing Allt Coire na Làrach I headed westwards, reaching the summits of Stob an Duine Ruaidh West Top, Stob an Duine Ruaidh, Meall Cruidh, Ben Starav and Stob Coire Dheirg (Old GR). I went down the ridge eastward to Bealachan Lochain Ghaineamhaich and descended northwards on the path that runs near Allt nam Meirleach.pwbellarby11/06/2009

Solo. Parked the car at the start of the track to Coileiter. Followed the track to Coileiter and ascended up the NNE ridge of Ben Starav to reach the summit. Most of the time it was thick mist although it lifted briefly early on. I had intended to reach other tops but conditions were not very good and time was running out. I went to the south of Stob Coire Dheirg and went east to the col with Meall nan Trì Tighearan (766m) and down the path that runs near Allt nam Meirleach to reach the car. There were snow fields high up. This was supposed to be training for a mountain marathon. I was slow and got back very late so it was counter-productive.pwbellarby03/04/2008

It was excellent, a shame you can only do two of the ridges in a walk, they all look so good. The ridge walk from Glas Bheinn Mhor was absolutely absorbing. Hazy, but it was the nearby mountain architecture that was always going to hold our gaze. After climbing Stob Coir’ an Albannaich, Glas Bheinn Mhór, and Beinn nan Aighenan with two fellow club members I continued alone. From Beinn nan Aighenan I went down to the col to the north and straight across to Meall Cruidh., then Ben Starav and Stob Coire Dheirg. The map reference for the latter is correct - the top is along a narrow rocky ridge, which is not apparent from the OS 1:50,000 1st series map. The decent was via the NE ridge, which is not as difficult as the map suggests. Mist lifting and falling. Superb views out to sea.pwbellarby09/10/1982

First of several ascents. This was achieved by walking from Victoria Bridge to ascend by Coire na Caime and the east ridge. Also ascended this way in 1987, but from Glen Etive in 1992, 1993 and 1997.JohnW23/08/1978

1986-1987 Climbed with Ron and Hugh. First time I ever climbed with someone who used an aneroid. Never again. There is no such thing as a false summit, when climbing with an aneroid - just someone telling you how far to go. A long, long pul-up from Loch Etive side, the view of the Trilleachan slabs disappearing, whilst my desire to kill Aneroid Man escalates.spstrachanblank
