4th hill of 7 on a 19km circuit continuing from Whinn Rig. Weather closing in. Views of Great Gable very impressive. So glad to have Grid ref programmed in as finding the true summit would be difficult. I would like to revisit on a good weather day. From Burnmoor Lodge then onwards to Whin Rigg before returning to the Lodge by contouring down the slopes below Illgill Head. Great views but extremely windy making swift progress impossible.KevPalmer17/10/2023

From Miterdale Forest. 15 km, 730 m asc. NE to Low Place and up the Brat's Hill Stone Circles and Boat How. Over Burnmoor Tarn outflow to join the path to Illgill Head and Whin Rigg. Over Irton Fell and rough going to Great Bank (30 mins to do the 150 m distance to the top and back) Back s by Miterdale Forest. Goldcrest flock.
