Dales Way through Hag End then open access ascent to Grandsire. Path over to School Knott then ROWs until ENE of Heathwaite Hill. Helpfully a gate gives access into the steep adjacent field so easy walk to the woodland wall above. I surmounted it at its highest point and found the summit mound pretty quickly. Back onto ROWs towards Unnamed School Knott, heading over open ground once N of the summit. Over the stone dyke to Cleabarrow Hill then southerly descent to my camper parked below.summitter08/10/2023

WOs72,73,74,75 and 76. Rain forecast for p.m. so made an early start. Started from where Dales Way leaves the lane at Hag end and followed good paths to School Knott with good views over Windermere and up Langdale. Then went up and back over Grandsire and finished up and back over Cleabarrow. Then quickly up and down Brant Fell from lane just to the east with curtain of rain out to the west. Finally up and down Orrest Head in very wet and windy conditions - absolutely foul and no view of lake.BURGESS06/08/2017
