From large parking area just before bungalow outside Cynwyd: Bryn-llus; Pen Creigiau'r Barcut; Moel Fferna; Cerrig Coediog; Pen y lladron; Moel yr Henfaes. Sweltering day, for which we were ill prepared without sufficient water or suncream. Visited Liberty Hall but omitted the last 2 peaks we planned. Welcome meal at the Blue Lion at the end of the walk. | Lazylizzie | 13/05/2023 |
Parked in the layby on the B4401 at Cynwyd. Through the village, over the river and took the path to 055403, along the minor road then the track all the way up to just before the memorial stone at 091367, then over then fence and up to the summit. Followed the footpath along the fence all the way to Moel Fferna bagging the Simm of Cefn Perfedd and the Dewey of Cerrig Coedig on the way. Back down Moel Ferna to pick up the North Berwyn Way back to Cynwyg.12.67 miles. Fine walk. | JulieB | 02/10/2022 |

2/5 on a Dewey walk from Cynwyd. A clockwise horseshoe around the valley of Afon Trystion visiting Bryn-llus, Pen Creigaur Barcut, Moel Fferna, Cerrig Coediog, Cefn Perfedd, Moel yr Henfaes [Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top], Y Drum and Moel yr Henfaes. 22.6km with 1000m ascent in 6h20m. Parked next to the shop in Cynwyd (no restrictions on sundays) and followed the Nuttall route East with a spur up to Liberty Hall to take in Bryn llus, from here I pressed on to Moel Fferna, along the ridge taking in Cerrig Coediog and Cefn Perfedd before arriving at the Nuttall top of Moel yr Henfaes, from here I followed the hills over Y Drum and the Dewey Moel yr Henfaes. If your lucky when striking out for the last top you'll walk over a grassy track heading North East which will take you back to Cynwyd forest albeit having to cross a grazing field at 07959 39525 to access the forest tracks that you follow left back to the car. Fourteen and half mile in Six and quarter hours. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 09/05/2021 |

The 8 summits around Cynwyd Forest anti-clockwise with Rufus. Parked at far end of reservoir and took forest track to open hillside, used a mixture of fences and rough tracks for navigation but plenty of the round is in deep heather. A good logical round for the northern Berwyn and took just over 4 hours at a fast pace - 16km 700m ascent. | jacobrichmond | 01/09/2020 |
2/6 - long round from road at Nant y Dramwys Wood - cold. I/M rain. Weather deteriorated after dark | wychwood | 15/11/2019 |

From a wild camp on Bronwen en route to Moel Fferna. A very hot early morning walk through the bogs made for exhausting going but the sense of wilderness was invigorating. | Jake994 | 05/05/2018 |
From Moel Fferna on circuit. Mound by side of path W of fence. Continued to Cefn Perfedd, ground frozen which was good for boggy bits but awkward underfoot where it was churned up. | Aye Jimmy | 24/02/2018 |

10 hill circuit based around Cadiar Bronwen. Start and finish on a forestry track not far from Cynwyd. Fantastic, sunny Saturday with hardly anyone on the hills. | BobHancock | 22/04/2017 |
Parked on forest road at 084,401. North Berwyn Way to Moel Fferna, then along horrendously boggy ridge to bag Cerrig Coediog, Cefn Perfedd and Moel yr Henfaes. Descent on very good track above Nant y Lladron. 8 miles, 1600ft ascent - just under 4 hours. | Crib Goch | 15/04/2016 |

Continuing from Moel Fferna. Quality of track gets worse as the route goes on. Keep to the right of the fence (from North) as the route is considerably better. | muzza2 | 28/06/2015 |
Up from Cynwyd, parked at track junction 084 401-track up to Liberty Hall & Bryn-llus, then track to Pen Creigiau'r Barcut, heather bashing to join North Berwyn Way to Bwlch Cynwyd & onto Moel Fferna, back tracked then onto Cerrig Coediog & Pen y Lladron Good path to Cynwyd forrest & car. warm & dry. Stick to tracks-avoid Heather. | apricorum | 05/09/2014 |
From single track road leading east from Cynwyd. Parking possible at junction with forest track. Pleasant horseshoe with minimal climbing. Bryn Llus, Pen Creigiau'r Barcut, Cerrig Coediog, Pen y Lladron, Moel yr Henfaes (Nuttall) Y Drm, moel yr Henfaes (Dewey). Good paths and tracks most of the way. | ijpowell | 31/07/2014 |
My third summit of the Day, having climbed Pen y Vivod and Pen Tan-Y-Craig. From the Track that leads South into Ceiriog forest, I took a forest track heading West that I had identified on the OS map as snaking through the forest and then out onto the moorland all the way to the fenceline so that I had only to turn left (southwest)and followed the fenceline, with a few false summits till I got to the last high point of Cerrig Coediog, where after the land falls away (until Moel Henfaes East top) The Track made walking so much easier whereas the next top to Pen Creigiau'r Barcut was a slog through heather and bilberry. As mentioned earlier there are occasional drops using the fenceline so just be alert to them. | Dazingdale | 04/05/2014 |
From Cynwyd, a round of Bryn-llus, Pen Creigiau'r Barcut, Moel Ffarna, Cerrig Coediog, Pen y Lladron, Moel yr Henfaes [Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top], Y Drum and Moel yr Henfaes. A nice horseshoe for this area. | rhalstead | 07/04/2014 |

Descent into Cwm Lladron (little trace of dotted route shown on map) and then to Cynwyd by forest roads. Some lying snow, and hill-fog on tops. | Man of Kernow1 | 04/11/2012 |

Part of horrible windy, foggy, boggy, viewless walk between Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top and Moel Fferna. So glad to reach forestry tracks on the way back down to Cynwyd. | thesweetcheat | 20/02/2011 |
On clockwise loop from village taking in the Deweys. Met two land rovers (and crew) at summit of Pen Bwlch Llandrillo) before taking track back down. | SS | 19/09/2010 |
