Parked close to the telephone box at 118224. The track opposite leads eventually to a stile at 124224. Once over this the path follows the fence which is on your left to within 300m of the summit. With CM.bolton26/09/2017
Bs 52,53,54,55 and 56. Showers early and low cloud stayed over high fells but soon turned into a sunny day on the fells north of Loweswater. Went up excellent track from Thackthwaite to Low Fell (done as a Wainwright in 2008). Good path on to Loweswater Fell and steep down then up to Darling Fell. Not too rough cutting across to Sourfoot Fell then good path over Smithy Fell to Fellbarrow (climbed in 2008) and out to Hathergill Head. Returned to Smithy Fell then followed path down to rejoin outward track. An excellent day with good views.BURGESS31/07/2017

Met Dave at Ennerdale Bridge. Left my car near Loweswater, Dave drove us to Mosser Mains start point. Walked east past Fellside Farm and up to Hattergill Head then south over Fellbarrow, Smithy Fell, Sourfoot Fell, Low Fell, and Low Fell south top (Loweswater Fell). Crossed boggy ground and up Darling Fell then descended to my car at Loweswater. Very fine sunny afternoon, temperature in the teens, no wind.Skip24/03/2017

With Mum & Fiona. Thackthwaite (parking just N of village) - good path to Low Fell - S Top - path to Darling Fell - pathless crossing to Sourfoot Fell over 2 fences - Smithy Fell - Fellbarrow - Hatteringill Head - descent SE to track - ThackthwaiteMark Jackson29/12/2016
Top with cairn is clearly the highest, but bagged both tops just to be sure in case official top ever gets moved as a result of re-surveying sometime in the future - we always do this now, so that any revisits to the fell are our choice and not enforced to complete a fell list! Very dry ground at moment so took a direct route to Sourfoot Fell rather than longer walk on paths. Little mud, but a couple of easy fences to climb.Hillsidenick02/11/2016
