Clear. Glad of foldable bike to base 😀 | davechaffey | 28/09/2023 |
Cycled in from Trinifour. left bike at the old lodge, walked from there. crossed the dam and went up from there. Bits of path here and there, none on the tableland, no views either dire day for my 900th simm. | hils | 07/07/2023 |
1 of 3: Parked off the A9 on the Trinafour road. Crossed the sluice/dam at 714792 and then up very steep slopes heading towards a prominent rock on the ridge line. Steeper than I remembered it! With Karen. | ChrisR | 27/03/2023 |
Park NN 721705 (just before forest) and good biking to NN 715777. Path up south face (picked up at NN 7177 7949). Descent NN 7201 8130 in easterly direction and direct to A'Chaoirnich picking up deer trod at NN 7295 8106. easy walking on plateau and southerly ridge, descending easily to bike from Meall na Spianaig | carole engel | 10/08/2022 |
Walked the route. Bright sunny day, cool and breezy up high. South Ridge not as steep as expected. Didn't expect a knife edge ridge on the other side. Bridge clearly visible to the north for the other Corbett. | Jhimmy | 03/06/2022 |
Cycled to river crossing beyond S.lodge, Gaick Lodge track for 0.25k, then deer tracks which zig zag up the non heathery bits to the main track. Returned over the dam and back down track to bikes. | iangalbraith | 24/04/2022 |
Up from the A9. Amazing area for exploring | Andrew Simmons | 29/07/2021 |
Parked in the A9 southbound layby by Dalnacardoch Lodge. Mountain bike to the north end of the Sronphadruig plantation. Found the narrow path steeply up through short heather. Cloudless, very warm, excellent visibility. | Owen B | 15/07/2021 |
I parked up at the Fortingall turn off the A9. I cycled into to Loch an Duin. The southern ridge of An Dun looked very steep. I kept up a steady pace pausing only to take photos or catch my breath. I found a trodden path that made the route finding and climbing easier. I reached this first cairn about 1 hour 10 mins after leaving my bike. Great views all round with clear blue skies. | langskill | 01/07/2021 |
solo | donmeister | 31/05/2021 |
Big 52km day from Drumguish. Cycled up Glen Tromie to just beyond Gaick Lodge then walked through the Gaick pass and up S slope. Found this uncomfortably steep higher up, soft wet snow. Both tops, then W slopes down- bumslide on snow most of way. The way back to the cycle down by Allt na Craorbie worked fine. Sunny, showers in afternoon- excellent scenery and a lovely path (glad I was walking rather than cycling there) alongside Loch an Duin which had resident Black-throated Diver. Later, a Golden Eagle circled An Dun. On my own (mountain rescue police anyone?) but did have mobile phone with me. | pwheeler | 05/05/2021 |
From A9 (parked in S-bound layby immediately S of track start) cycled along track to Sronphadruig Lodge, walked on 1km or so, forded river and up the S ridge of An Dun to S summit, continued to N summit, descended NE slopes, forded (easily) Allt na Craoibhe and Allt Loch an Duin, then ascended A' Chaoirnich up slopes immediately NE of Allt Bruthach nan Spardan, to summit, continuing S along ridges, descending back to Sronphadruig Lodge and cycled back to A9. | kdbennett | 21/07/2020 |
We cycled from the A9 to Sronphadruig, dumped the bikes and headed up a snow-capped Am Meadar. Pretty steep going, but just a foretaste of the day. Back down to a dam crossing SSW of An Dun. Came across a deer marksman who fired a couple of shots as we headed up the steep south slope - a narrow path helps for most of the way. Over An Dun's two tops then veered west to the Coire na Craoibhe and its spectacular icy waterfall. Tough climb onto Bruthach na Craoibhe as the wind picked up and the snow got deeper so headed down the stalkers path to Sidhean Coire an Dubh-chadha, a nice wee bump. Walked back to the bikes on the track towards Loch an Dun, but rather than get wet feet we opted for the east side, where a small trail gave some help over rough terrain. | summitter | 07/02/2020 |

Nice weather and great visibility with the exception of a couple of brief showers. | amcculloch | 21/06/2019 |
Day 1 of a 2 day round with a night in the bivi bag SW of An Dun summit. 12.00 start due to biking round from Glen Feishie where I had been camping,. Set up tent close to river west of Gaick Lodge and then Sgor Dearg(Ct); Boghe-cloiche(Ct); A Mhorconaich(Ct); Meall Odhar Mor(Ct); Creag an Dubh(Ct): Brutach na Craiobhe(Ct); both tops of An Dun (C). | dickscroop | 29/06/2018 |
A superb hill. Biked in, and then slunk round to the west ridge, since the south ridge was a bit snowed up and looked a bit too tricky wearing trainers (mountain rescue police anyone?). Over the top and down the north east ridge (somewhat steep), across the river (easy) and up A'Chaoirnich by the grassy wedge opposite the footbridge (steeper still). Nice stroll over the plateau, and back to the bike for a quick blast down the hill. Proper mountains - steep and interesting. | Gill | 28/04/2017 |
With M. Cycle in to loch to do these two Corbetts (separately). Cycling easier than previous day, except for steep start. An Dun quite steep! Some snow to negotiate near the top. | douglas_easton | 28/04/2017 |
After a bike ride from Dalnacardoch, solo. Also went up Maol Creag an Loch. 5.5 hours for the whole trip. | Phreerunner | 09/04/2017 |

Overnight circuit from Dalnacardoch. Followed track most of way to An Dun, but ford not possible to cross so took rough route to reach small dam and cross to climb S via S ridge of An Dun and visit both tops, camped at base of ridge. Light snowfall overnight then climbed Meall na Spianaig, A' Chaoirnich, the two possible tops of Bruthach na Creagan, returning S to climb Sron Odhar and rough traverse across lower section of Glas Choire and over broad ridge to Edendon Water and track of ascent route. Some sunshine and light covering of snow on tops on day 2. | RobertP | 26/03/2016 |

Circuit from Sronphadruig Lodge after bike in. | jimbloomer | 01/06/2013 |
Epic day. Cycled up Glen Tromie to Gaick lodge. Walked up to beyond south end of Loch an Duin & up south ridge of An Dun. Over both tops & down to north end of Loch an Duin. Then up horrendously steep western flank of A'Chaornich. Off north ridge back to Gaick Lodge. Got almost back to van & realised boots had fallen off back of bike. Cycled back nearly to Gaick Lodge to get them. 36 miles of cycling. 12 miles of walking & 3,000ft of ascent. Almost too exhausted to lift bike onto rack on van when I finally got back. | ngthack | 11/05/2013 |
