Logged Descriptions  (logged by 36 users)ByDate of Ascent
Layby 300m E of start of old military road NH162106. From gate posts, in deep veg, best going in trees where deer have slept. When it steepens, good zig zag ledges on deer chomped short grass, keeping close to Caochan Cam. 2m deer fence when angle reduces – bits of blue rope holding up the fence mark crossing point just E of small gully (replace rope after crossing). Small ridges of high ground connect to top. Substantial cairn.Isbjorn10/01/2024
Parked at NH 1933 1008 for a circuit of 3 Simms and 1 XMT. After An Reithe. Onwards to W Top. 4/4PGCE04/06/2023
Nice rocky peak and glorious weather now but the wilderness feel of the whole area has been ruined by Meall Dubh windfarm, probably the most inappropriate wind development in Scotland. Descended north back to bike. Got a puncture on the way out - the second in as many rides - and the that's the last time I use stupid gravel tyres. Dismayed to see an anemometer in the trees to the east and have discovered that there is a proposal (i.e. its happening) for a Tomchrasky [sic] windfarm. 43km, 2000m ascent 8 hours.Wycombe Wanderer26/05/2023
Parked in the layby at NH1657 1059. West along the road a short distance, then up through young trees and over reasonable grassy ground to cross the Caochan Cam as it turned towards the lochan. Up past the lochan to the summit. Hazy views and a good rainbow beyond the summit. Visited the rocks of Tony S's lightning strike.LizH14/07/2022

Ceannacroc Bridge circular. Approached from ESE then headed over Creag na Mairt to pick up the old military road where I nearly stepped on an adder.Smudge17/05/2019
A quick up and down from the reservoir using the Wade Road to start - breaking my journey up to Skyedickscroop25/05/2018
Out and back from the reservoir road. Would be easy but for deep, soft snow.Eddie18/02/2018
From SW, parked in small pull-in at foot of Lundie, road and Wade Road then easy slopes. Back via the W top, Lundie and its S top.RHW26/12/2017
Shattered rock on adjacent top - clearly as a result of very recent lightning strike.Tony S29/07/2017
From the Cluanie dam on hard snow with sunglasses.jimbloomer03/03/2016
I found what I think is the cave. It is a slab of rock that has slipped down leaving a flat floor but gaps to the sides and top which would make it draughty and wet. It is at, roughly, NH 19156 11894 at 386m heightAlan Moore10/04/1999
