Second of three, on Loch Nagar anti-clockwise loop from Spittal of Glenmuick. We started early, and had the whole area to ourselves - only seeing others coming up as we descended to the queen’s house. We attempted to sit and soothe our feet in Loch Muick, but swarms of midges drove us away in two minutes flat!Toby-and-Dion23/08/2023

12.3 mile walk up and down Lochnagar on the tourist path from Spittal of Glen Muick. On the way back we went over Cac Carn Mor, Cuidhe Crom and Meikle Pap. The day started out nicely with high cloud and sun but as we descended from Meikle Pap our last hill the cloud came down. Glad we got the great views from the summit of Lochnagar. 1045m ascent altoghether. Saw about 20 people.DanTrig13/09/2021

Frances, Mandy & Jim, Leslie & Angela Drennan, Katrina, Bryan. Weather fair, but with gusty windy that was particularly problematic on the 'ladder'. Drove to Loch Muick. The walk up to the high point between Lochnagar and Caisteal na Caillich was straightforward on an excellent track. There is also an excellent path from this point up to the col between Meikle Pap and the main ridge. The wind had not been a significant issue until we reached the col. The next section on a mix of path and boulders - the Ladder - was challenging in the strong gusty wind and Angela found it particularly difficult. However, once onto the main ridge the walking was straightforward - we took the well made path that keeps well away from the precipitous northern cliffs. before heading down via the Glas Allt waterfall to Loch Muick. My ankle was giving me gip and the route march back along Loch Muick to the car was a bit painful.langskill12/09/2018

RBS HWC Sunday Outing; the path from Loch Muick is excellent, almost a pavement; a straightforward climb to my surprise as Lochnagar had been a dark bogey mountain in my mind; the climb from the col between Meikle Pap and the main ridge was slightly tricky - loose gravelly underfoot.langskill28/07/2002

Cairngorm Club bus meet. Solo. I left Spittal of Glen Muick and ascended Little Pap and Cuidhe Crom on the way to Carn Cac Mòr and then Cac Carn Beag. Several other members reached there about the same time via a variety of routes including a party who completed Black Spout Gully (LH branch) and another who completed Black Spout Gully (RH branch). All parties in Black Spout Gully reported snow rather soft, but the climb worthwhile. I descended via Glas Allt Shiel. There was very little snow (apart from Black Spout Gully) and the weather very good so large numbers reached the summit of Lochnagar.pwbellarby11/01/1998

Solo round of the White Mounth Munros & tops from Spittal Of Glenmuick on a partly cloudy day. Meikle Pap, Cuidhe Crom, Cac Carn Mor & Beag & then easy walking over Creag a'Ghlas-uillt, Eagles Rock, Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt Beag & Mor. Turned for inward stretch bagging the remaining Munros & most of the tops. Dropped down to the loch using the track. As dusk approached, the lochside heaved with deer, none of which took any notice of a tired walker!NotReallyABagger17/09/1989

With Fraser and Stuart Stronach. We left Spittal of Glen Muick, going to Corrie of Lochnagar, intending to climb Parallel Gully A. Due to avalanche danger we climbed the LH branch of Black Spout Gully. We went to the summits of Cac Carn Mor and Cac Carn Beag. We descended to the col with Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe, which Stuart ascended, then went to the north of Meikle Pap to get back to Spittal of Glen Muick. It was somewhat misty on top with good weather in the afternoon.pwbellarby28/02/1987

Cairngorm Club meet. With two friends. From Spittal of Glenmuick to Meikle Pap. Very little snow until 700m level reached. Then down to col and up Ladder, which was slightly tricky due to high wind and icy patches. Ascending into mist, which however lifted as we reached the top of the Ladder to reveal good views especially of snow covered White Mounth. Then into mist again as we ascended towards Cac Carn Mor. What had been rain before reaching Meikle Pap became hail driven hard by the wind. Continued to Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe and Conachcraig.pwbellarby15/01/1983
