For once something of a path on the island from riabhach took a few stops on this amazing part of the island to watch the birds flying around and the waves crashing far below. Colonsay completionThe-Z-Man26/03/2024
Accompanying SteveG on his Colonsay Tump completion walk. A much better route than I took last year.Minto08/06/2023
On winding coastal route from the south. Fun picking a route through the cliffs, avoiding dead sheepRockdoctor08/05/2022
Parked at school (on a Sunday). Went straight up this hill, should have taken then track to Gortain. 1/4 of ascent was Heather hell. Rest of walk over Binnein Riabh was delightful.Minto10/04/2022
Walked along road from the accomm at Colonsay house, cut up across the rough just before the church (NR 3773 9576), and took a reasonably direct line to Binnein Riabhach. Then across to here via the intervening MacPhie. On to Beinn na Sgoltaire, plus the MacPhies inbetween. A 10k round.jonglew13/09/2021
From Binnein Riabhach. Excellent walk. Near the top of the Hump there is a wall with a useful stile.NormanW25/08/2021
Pleasant walk from Binnein Riabhach, visiting a couple of alternative rocky high points on the way to the summit (NR37367 96752 and NR37330 96845). Continued on to Beinn an Sgoltaire.LizH18/05/2021

Day 1 of Rob and my Macfies round leaving the northern Macfies for Day 2. Sunny, windy, and great viz. Tough heathery hills and difficult nav.alexmaclennan29/08/2020
Parked near the turning to Gortain, following the track to the bird cliff which leads to the very cliff edge summit of Beinn Riabhach. Entertainingly over the MacPhie of Cnoc mull-Araich, the various would-be southern tops of Beinn Bhreac arrayed along two ridges, and over the wall by a wobbly stile to the N summit. Returned broadly SW, using animal tracks whereNick Down121/04/2019
Second visit as I claimed surrounding Tumps. The alternative summit was 1m lower according to my altimeter, though that's hardly conclusive. On to Beinn an SgoltaireColin Crawford27/07/2018
2nd tump after Beinn nan Guidarean on a 20.9km loop from the Ferry, staying at the Backpackers lodge, climbing all Machphies en-route, NR 37331 96842. Weather now good after hours of drizzle. Onwards to Binnein Riabhach...Dazingdale08/05/2018
After Binnein Riabhach. Along ridge past Lamalum and An Caigionn and over stile to top. Impressive view of Kiloran Bay with breakers in strong wind. Descent east towards Loch an Sgoltaire and round its north end - many paths and tracks, some helpful, some meretricious - making for Beinn an Sgoltaire.mainnirnamfiadh27/09/2016
Walking tour of centre of island w Jenx, not hard to find way, some tussocky grass but on whole easy going in dry conditions.nordicstar23/08/2015
Tump 4 of 5, with chalky and AlexC. After Sgoltaire - reasonable ground. Good descent SW to Kilchattan, mostly on animal tracks. Then to Cnoc Mor.RHW11/06/2015
Mad dash around Colonsay to get as much done as physically possible before our boat was due to leave.Alex C11/06/2015
A circuit of Carnan Eoin, Beinn Bheag and Beinn Bhreac (respectively) from Colonsay House. Rising path from the beach at Port nam Fliuchan is useful when found. Visited all lumps and bumps either side of the wall to make sure.summitsup11/06/2015
Out and back from just W of the school. Feint trod E of fence to the foot of the climb. Initially, started between cottages around the bend E of Torr-an-tuirc. 'You'll not get over the fence you'll come to around the corner'. Yeh, rightEddie27/05/2015
Walked from island top along the beach to bag this hill which has cairn at summit.Dugswell213/06/2012
Caught up with Dugswell and others here. Way up involves sand, heath and bog, as does the way down without the sand. Great views to Mull etc to the north.Martin R13/06/2012
