Commercial timber above track and below quarry edge now felledTricky03/12/2023
From the NE track. Easy I think.Play2End14/05/2023
As others, from E of Glentisset. Good track logging road, albeit muddy, til due E of the hill top (NS 9400 4110), then a harvester track and after that the mast access road. High point looks artificial, but then probably reflected in the name. A more natural high point ~50m NW.jonglew05/02/2023
As others to boulders but track completely flooded or muddy quagmire. Angled up to rim over brushwood which was being gathered for biomass fuel. All potential tops visited and quarry security tried to visit me near the mast. Retreated to safety of forestry land.lordtonult05/10/2022
Start as MacBell, lovely woods with newish oak plantation as well as huge, mature trees. Forestry plantation has now been felled. After the rocks, walked west on tracked vehicle route (would be a nightmare after a wet spell) until about 70 metres from tree line ahead, then ascended surprisingly easily (not much brushwood) to quarry rim near summit.Wycombe Wanderer06/08/2022
As MacBell. A nice walk. Can be shortened by turning right 20m in from road and following electric poles, then dyke, to the track.Minto21/03/2022
Surprisingly good views if you ignore the quarry.Ascent from the north as per others.ARM13/03/2022
Thanks to MacBell and others for info on non-confrontational route from North. I doubt whether the quarry edge where the high point is will be disturbed as there is a large phone mast on lower ground a few metres away which would be endangered if this part was further quarried.NormanW05/01/2022

From the end of the track 400m east of Glentisset. Parking for a couple of cars. Turn right at the rocks after 600m as previously stated by others and follow the good path to its conclusion, then up a grassy continuation. Use the gate to access the barbed wire fence, then up steeply to join a track leading to the phone mast. the undisturbed high point is just beyond. Don't leave it too long to bag this one - the summit won't be there. No access problems using this route. Interesting circular enclosure like return at NS444418 - stand of large beech and Scots pine surrounding a hollow in the middle of a plantation. No reference to it online thoughMacBell16/02/2021
Spur of the moment afternoon walk. Quarry closed for Sunday, but DO NOT use road as walkway. Walked short way up road before going into woods to exit high up near quarry. Met close to summit by security guard, I’d triggered an alarm! Quite chilled, he was more concerned that I didn’t come to harm, a walker apparently had injured themselves falling in quarry. Quarry to north of summit and forest not shown on my map. Be warned...alarmed and CCTV gate.N.Morters18/10/2020
Follow path from E of glentisset, up initially, bends right at boulders. Follow variable path/track to past a junction, where there is a sharp uphill left. At the top, gate to your right, through it, up steep bank on tread to the track. Left up to mast, summit just above. Nice views, interesting quarry!Belfarm 16/10/2020
Found a good track through the forest just NE of Glentisset. Then up to quarry edge through a clearing, followed by hellish crawl for a long way through thick plantation. Good practice for caving. No sign of trig. Much easier descent on tracks to NW.sclater01/08/2020
Local walk. Parked at Lanark Loch and walked from there. LizH's route is the one to follow (just keep right at the split beside some large boulders about 600 metres into the woods).benalder28407/06/2020
Parked same as Liz. Good tracks through forest, and no problem reaching hill summit. With R and B.jenx18/02/2020
Parked at 94356 42213 and followed a red gravel path into the wood. Continued on a vehicle track, a pleasant forest walk, all the way to a gate a short distance from the summit. (No need to go through any of the red/white no access tapes seen on the way in.)LizH04/01/2020
Success! From the northwest, although Jim's route from the NNW would have worked, or even from the north. The key seems to be to make the final approach from NS 93993 41091. This avoids all the quarry operations and cliffs, and doesn't seem to bother the management.Pete R27/12/2019
Failed! We tried parking at Sawmill. A friendly (but firm) worker had been sent there to tell people not to spend their Boxing Day walking in. He spoke of cameras and sensors. Instead, we went for a walk in the forest on the north side. Nearing the quarry, we decided to respect the Keep Out signs.Pete R26/12/2019
Followed track to top.Dismal day. Another one ticked off.Steve51109/07/2017
From NNW. Parking by gate into field with track. Easy.jimbloomer18/02/2016
from quarry road end. Road was sheet ice. Quarry most impressive, but comms mast should mean that the summit remains for a while. 1st in 2016Thearlaichdubh01/01/2016
up quarry road to the mast then edge of quarry.robertphillips12/01/2015
The lengths (or depths) people will go to prevent others trigpointing. Straightforward amble on quarry road and track to mast. Might be trickier if attempted during a work day.Martin R04/01/2014
Up through woodland to edge of bloody great hole. Source of Lanarkshire's pink roads.fasgadh18/04/2012
Parked at 9435 4220. Followed track to end. Gate off to the left. Horrible climb up thick bracken and nettles thenonto track round to mast.chrisbien24/08/2010
Climbed from forest to north via track then between groups of trees to quarry edge which was followed to summit on quarry edge on spoil next to track close to communication mast. GPS after 10 mins read 333 metres, trig long gone.Dugswell202/05/2010
Approached quarry edge from NW. Not quite the highest point of the remaining hill but can see enough of the quarry to see where its gone.andy30/01/2010
No trace of trig nor original summit: mast at what is now highest point. Active quarry. Trig shown on my 1988 LR72. OS: destr 7/93. RHW08/10/2006
Came up from nr sawmill, parallel to track on N side but not actually on it.agentmancuso16/07/2005
