As Richard. Gorgeous sunny view | Denise | 14/03/2022 |
From village carpark (free), up steps through woods, along wooded ridge to grassy top with outcropping rock in grass. Sunny weather. | RichardM | 14/03/2022 |
From Meiford car park, and up the steps. Very nice. | PGCE | 21/08/2020 |
From Meifod, nice little circular for Christmas morning. | rhalstead | 25/12/2019 |
Parked in Meiford Car Park at 1536 1328 - NW along road for about 200m to fingerpost & waymark - Along RoW for about 70m to gate at bottom of steps - Steep climb up steps to ridge & then a decent path along narrow ridge to embedded rock on grassy summit; a couple of useful waymarks just before the short steep climb to summit. With Minnie from Meifod village parking, footpath closed- access to steep track 20mtrs on left up Llanfihangel road, varying degrees of steepness to open top, strange rock pools, reasonable views, back down same way, cool cloudy, spitting a bit. | apricorum | 18/03/2019 |
Parked in side street opposite start. Steps currently closed for felling (except Sundays). Superb arête path and great views from the summit. | Jim.Fothergill | 25/11/2018 |
Took the steps path, though officially closed due to extensive felling on south side of hill. Good little ridge walk. Local fox hounds busy in the woods. Massive dogs, but left us and Bryher well alone. | jenx | 24/11/2018 |
Up the ridge from number 2 Isafyn, roadside parking by number 1. Path supposedly closed due to forestry work, crossed through and up the superb autumn leaf cloaked ridge to summit. Foxhounds all over the top. With Jenx and Bryher who loved this one | nordicstar | 24/11/2018 |
A quick bag via the steps- no forestry work going on fortunately. Nice wooded ridge then a violent squall on the summit. A good choice, mostly sheltered. With brother Pete, from Meifod | pwheeler | 19/09/2018 |

Village car park. Struggled to find start of steps path, but it's down drive to 2 Isfryn. Superb walk along forested ridge. Really enjoyed this one. | Mark Sims | 22/03/2017 |
I parked in Meifod and went up the steps route which starts up a drive to a house. I came down aless steep route which came out a few yards down the Lllanfihangel road. Lovely walk including a mini-ridge walk. | clivevilla | 11/01/2017 |
Arrived 5:30 am in a total daze having walked through the night. Unfurled my survival bag for a quick 15 minutes powernap and felt much better for it. | Alex C | 22/04/2016 |
Great viewpoint and an easy hill | trimarc2 | 30/09/2015 |
As arranc, the start of the path is a bit elusive but is fine once found. | Chris Peart | 13/07/2014 |
park in Meifod village hall car park. Signed path to the top with 160 plus steps to start! Excellent hill. | arranc | 28/08/2013 |
from disused pit room for 2 cars. walked along road to bridleway which is in process of being diverted a little, then past little enclosed pond and up to summit. the best view is 10m to the east which looks directly down onto Meifod. get there quick before the view is ruined by electricity pylons. descent straight off top along a sometime vague path straight back to the pit. | stig_nest | 26/08/2013 |
