On way from previous peak, found a 16lb sledgehammer with yellow handle placed against fence as idea of lugging it down did not appeal too much. Loads of old wire lying around. A right mess in parts. Guess another new fence going up. Company: Solo | iandesbottes | 17/11/2023 |
Creag Mhor & Beinn Stacach circuit from Ballimore.

Gill's route to Creag Mhor, then circuit of Creag an Fhiog and the three Ceann na Baintighearna tops. No time to include Beinn Stacach so descended east to Fathan Glinne, keeping north of the burn to the end of the track at the small dam and back to the bungalow at Ballimore via the track. | TRG318 | 20/04/2022 |
Beinn Stacath from Loch Voil Hostel via good path up Bealach Driseach and over Ceann na Baintighearna. Descended by forest tracks from Coire Odhar. | davidpettit84 | 22/04/2019 |
Plenty of parking 500m north of Ballimore, from which a track leads SW. Before reaching a deer gate a normal gate can be scaled, enabling a pretty straightforward climb to the Creag Mhor ridge. There a couple of false tops before the actual summit s reached, then onwards to Creag an Fhiog. Superb views up and down Loch Voil make up for the boggy Bealach Driseach, from where the ascent to Ceann na Baintighearna takes you to drier ground. Turning south to Beinn Stachach (or whatever you choose to call it) takes you alongside a couple of derelict fences (why don't landowners remove these once defunct?) to a small stone cairn (which I rebuilt) just to the east of the trig. Its all down hill from here, taking in the East top before reaching the bridge over the Allt Fathan Glinne, and an ever expanding track back to the start. Met Pete R back at the car - always nice to say hello to a fellow bagger! | summitter | 30/03/2019 |
