....2/2 then ascended from col, further and more icy - the NW facing slope was scoured - summit a bit further than expected and wind increasing. Then retraced steps and descended gully in fading light. Long walk out under clear skies but lots of snow in last 45 mins (enough to make the road out impassable so spent night in the car) | wychwood | 17/01/2023 |

5/6 A tough but amazing mountain day in the rugged fringes of Knoydart. Left the car with many others along the end of the public road at the west end of Loch Arkaig. Biked from there past Strathan, Glendessary Lodge to Upper Glendessary, altogether saving 10km of walking. Followed the usual track up the steep ridge of Sgurr nan Coireachan via its South Top, then steeply down to the Bealach and along the lovely rocky ridge over Garbh Chioch Bheag (and its E Top) and up to the second Munro Garbh Chioch Mor. Then steeply down to the next Bealach and up to the stunning Sgurr na Ciche, the highlight of the day. Finally, the long walk back, initially down the incredibly steep gully and then by the easy but never ending track back to the very welcome bike at Upper Glendessary. A perfect day for the hills with extensive all round views of the west Highlands and Islands. Altogether 27km with 1600m ascent, taking 10h 20m. | silveracorn_alan | 03/06/2022 |
Loch Arkaig, via Sgurr na ciche, followed wall past some easy scrambling to only clear summit of the day. Continued along undulating rocky ridge over Garbh Chioch Bheag, Sgurr nan Coireachan and down steep south ridge. Back to car at 9.30pm - 11 hours. | Flatfield | 24/05/2022 |
From parking at W end of Loch Arkaig, up Glen Dessary, to Bealach an Lagain Duibh, corrie up to ledge at NM902962, then scrambled up shallow gully of snow covered rocks to Feadan na Ciche - L up the upper of two snow ramps, then mixed ground R to steep exit wall and final summit cone of Sgurr na Ciche. Back to the Feadan, on to Garbh Cioch Mhor, keeping mainly to S side of wall, back to Feadan and back down gully. 11.4 hours. | Isbjorn Winter Round | 16/03/2022 |

The continuation to Garbh Chioch Mhor was straightforward although did involve some bits on the northern side of the ridge with the drop all to evident. Garbh Chioch Mhor was reached at ~1447 much too slowly, but at least the uphill effort was now over. The descent to the col between Garbh Chioch Mhor and Sgurr na Ciche was obvious and from there the one remaining major unknown - how hard would the descent from the col in the boulder filled gully be. The descent was not difficult, there was an obvious track in most places. This part of route like the whole route in general would be much more challenging in wet conditions; from the bottom of the gully the way ahead was obvious with a trod way, sketchy in places but generally reasonably obvious. On a sketchy section I lost the track, but found a stalkers path or ATV track. Now it was case of managing the way back to the car in doable sized bites, drinking carefully and resting as required. I was back at the car almost 12 hours after star | langskill | 12/06/2015 |

Wonderful warm and part sunny day but a long hot slog along the glen. Rewarded with a brilliant ridge walk and stunning views | Capt Malbec | 27/07/2013 |
Set off from our camp at the east col at dawn (4am)to avoid the mid day heat. It was great to be up and moving as the sun rose on such a beautiful day. Why did people build the wall along the ridge which is the middle of knowhere? It will probably be there for thousands of years now, until the next ice age sweeps it away. | mindlessflogger | 11/07/2013 |
2nd of 3. Back to where I dumped the pack and follow the wall! Stunning views no matter where you look. Struggling with cramp at times on a warm and windy day, legs and arms already tired from pushing and dragging the bike earlier. | bowzi | 07/07/2013 |

With Yeltzbagger. Climbed with Sgurr na Ciche from Sourlies. | Stevie n Tay | 29/05/2013 |
With Stevie n Tay. Camped two nights at Sourlies and one at Carnachwith ketzster after hiring boat from Mallaig. Very dangerous getting Stevie n Tay up slippery step ladder at low tide. Wwe didn't want to get the boat back but checking tide timetables we were told it would be high tide and it was easy going back. Climbed with Sgurr na Ciche. | Yeltzbagger | 29/05/2013 |
