From the layby on A87, ascended steeply up to Am Bathach, along grassy ridge and then dropped down into Bealach a' Choinich. Boggy ascent up to An Cnapach and then on grassy ridge with some narrower sections to Ciste Dhubh. Descended back to bealach, then down glen on rough path. Amazing conditions, with no wind and cloud inversion obscuring the bottoms of the glens. 12.8km.PiranhaFish07/11/2020
2nd ascent, on its own this time, from near Cluanie. Boggy path up the glen and very boggy and eroded on the initial climb, but v nice ridge walk afterwards. Beautiful day with excellent views of the Kintail and Affric hills. Many parked cars and met several groups, Munros are popular these days.douglas_easton26/09/2020

With Alasdair - beautiful bright and clear day. Quite cold and some scattered hail and snow showers. Parked at Clunie Inn and 2.10 hrs to the top of Ciste Dhubh, 4.10 on Aonach Meadhoin and just over 5 hrs to last top. Magic wall and cairn on last one . Lots of ravens and some deer about. Lot of other baggers but all coming in other direction. Good way down off South shoulder off last one down mossy grass to road. Bit of a trudge back up the road - very busy - most dangerous part of the day.7 hours and 10 minsslynch05/05/2012

With Jonathan and James. From Cluanie Inn, going up grassy slopes, finding and using parts of an old stalking path – little used, and joining SE ridge of Sgùrr an Fhuarail. Reached the summit of Sgùrr an Fhuarail and went along to Aonach Meadhoin. Returned to Sgùrr an Fhuarail. Went down to a point somewhat west of Bealach a' Choinich, and up to Ciste Dhubh. Ciste Dubh was Jonathan and James’s last Munro. We went over Aonach Meadhoin since that was James’s penultimate Munro. He had earlier in the day done Blaven as that had to be done as part of his Munros. We returned on path going all the way from the summit of Ciste Dubh via An Caorann Beag to the road – very wet and muddy. We had a celebratory dinner at the Conchra Hotel with Anne and Helen.pwbellarby06/07/1996

An epic solo jaunt over the Five Sisters & the North Shiel ridge starting from the outdoor centre near Morvich. Fairly brutal ascent up the N flank of Sgurr na Moraich on an already unseasonably warm day. Over the Five Sisters more easily. Decided to continue along the ridge & got as far as Aonach Mheadhoin. Continued on to Ciste Dhubh & then descended carefully NW as dusk approached to pick up the good path heading W. Eventually reached the car about 2 hours after sunset & decided to crash in the back. Fairly uncomfortable night & woken next morning by the bleating of sheep surrounding the car! (Again on 28/05/07 with Shaky from Glen Shiel for ridge from Saileag to Aonach Mheadhoin & then Ciste Dhubh. Unpleasant walk back along A87 to finish.)(Third time with J on 28/05/21 after Am Bathach on a fine day with a great view. Then tedious boggy & eroded path back to A87 which isn't any more pleasant to walk beside now.)NotReallyABagger28/03/1991
