Revisit, having previously not been to the official high point within the inner fenced enclosure. The entrance to this small compound has heavy-duty metal gates with drop bolts and a sliding latch. No problems to get inside however, due to the lack of any padlocks, as reported by govanah.Rod M20/11/2022
Good verge parking at the start of the track coming from the north. Solid fence around the summit area but there was no lock on the gate so went in to access the high point. Closest point outside the fence is only about 5m away and 1m lower. The house is occupied but the man who lives there seems quite friendly.govanah09/11/2022
Drove up farm track, workers in compound so asked to go in no probs.robertphillips19/07/2021
Weather fair. On this visit it was difficult to gain access to the actual summit due to security fence, but as with Colin below I think I got near enough to class as a bag.MountainMac06/03/2021
A secret bunker and former 1950's Cold Wall listening station. The single guardhouse was built to look like a normal cottage -and connects to a 10,000 sq ft underground bunker. Acquired by the US Navy in 1968 and run in conjunction with the major monitoring station at RAF Edzell. The facility lay unused between 1977 and 1984 until it was designated reserve headquarters for group headquarters and sector control at Craigiebarns Dundee. The station closed in 1993. It has just been sold to a historical enthusiasts - who will see what they can do with it? The agents said it was tricky to sell(!) but had listed potential uses as: Research and Development Data Centre/Disaster Recovery, Whisky/Wine Storage, Mushroom growing! Up through woods ( passing bee hives, gorse and a slack line).Gaps in patched fence enabled the then current high point to W of house to be reached and also a possible contender 300m E towards sea- now accepted as high point by Eds using Lidar following my query.Chris Pearson16/03/2020
HP small mound Mr concrete building. Access to compound by lower 137 summit, corner.Adrian23/07/2018
A problematic one as a high security fence surrounds the summit. I got as close as possible but it's a dubious bagColin Crawford07/05/2017
