Parked at cemetery, path straight across from car park. Headed up, path sometimes vanishes but just head up. Cracking viewpoint. Cloud inversion, but could see the peaks to east and Skye clearly and others far into distance. Stayed a long while. Company: Soloiandesbottes11/01/2024
With Winnie from burial ground car parkStrathcarron18/08/2023
Solo from car park by Clachan Duich cemetery. Folowed path/track up - zig zags started around 400m, and up onto the wide ridge area at around 580m. Surprisingly, the path continued all the way to the summit (not on the OS map after 580m). Decided to also take in the top Sgùrr na Seamraig to see if there were good views from there but the clag set in before I got to it, although I walked fairly close to a family of mountain hares. Head back to the path to return the same way back to the car. Was expecting rain but stayed dry, which is always nice - though the summits views were a bit cloudy. Total time 2h 54min.mproudfoot14/07/2023

Up from cemetery on good path to bealach. To summit by bagger’s track. Down direct to gate in fence. No rain, hot, still day. Flying ants. Clag on top 40m of hill, but some glimpses from summit. Rounsfell21/08/2021
Parked in the carpark at the old cemetery and followed path up from the kissing gate. Short weather window so didn't hang about. Once bagged, dropped straight down the side of the hill from the summit for quick descent.Matt290120/02/2021

Solo on a glorious autumn day. Parked at the burial ground car park just off the A87. A gate opposite gives access to a sometimes boggy track leading up to the older stalkers path marked on the map. Continued all the way to the col where the end of the path is marked with a cairn. A path leads across the boggy col & then all the way to the summit. Light snow covering on top & a superb panoramic view. Wandered over to the W top & then returned by the same route for a quick descent. A fine hillNotReallyABagger30/10/2019

Parked at Falls of Glomach car park. Up private road for 100 yds, through gate and headed up to find path which leads to excellent stalkers path further west. Warmest place in UK on this day within Shiel Bridge area. About 4 hour return with CM with clear views and blue skies.bolton28/06/2019

Start at burial car park NOT on the A87 as per SMC book. This 200 m off the A87. Zigzag path also starts directly opposite, not further down also stated in my SMC Corbett guide. Path leading all the way to top in a somewhat complicated mountain top from my grayed out view. Cylindrical trig point now split on top.Jhimmy17/10/2016
From burial ground, path all the way. Marked wind speed increase and temperature drop at high altitude. Path crosses no water sources above 100m, and there is no safe access to the ravine to the north.Topographer5708/10/2016
Good path and excellent views. Summit rock is about 25 East of Trig Point. A herd of about 50 goats seen west of summit on Sgurr na Seamraig.duchally24/08/2016
In a break between wet weather, started from the cemetery/memorial cp at Ruarth and took the new track starting at the gate opposite. This joined the old track shown on the OS map which gives a nice walk twisting between knolls and joining ridges higher up. I spent an hour on the summit area and visited a W top that gave better views seaward as well as a flock of goats, a Ring Ouzel and Golden Plovers plus many arctic moths- Phiaris obsoletana. Very heavy shower on the descent (same way), there was some thunder so just as well I overlooked the Hump.pwheeler24/06/2016
From the cemetery car park, following the good path all the way. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/carn-nan-iomairean-and-sgurr-airgid.htmlGayle13/05/2016
33rd – Solo. Cloud base lowering at times to 600m, but often above 1000m. Occasional snow showers, otherwise excellent visibility and some sunshine. Bus to Shiel Bridge, walked round to Morvich. Start up hillside not obvious, found a better route on way down coming out at cemetery just off main road. A lot of snow from the bealach, 'alpine feel'.RGibbs24/02/2016
Solo.Dangerous Dave24/09/2015
the start indicated in the SMC guide book is difficult to find and the first part is semi-blocked with fences; a local directed me towards a simpler start through a gate and towards a prominent tree where the SMC route could be picked up; the sketchy nature of the lower part of the path and the wet bracken was not pleasant; as will be evident later the lack of a trodden way was easily explained; I found the more obvious route as I caught up with a group of French walkers being guided by a Scots lass with very good french; I followed them up the hill donning midge net and waterproofs as necessary; I passed them and got the summit before them (nevertheless somewhat slow); I chilled quickly in the mist and did not hang around to see if it would lift; I returned down the way I came up until a point near where I had caught up with the French I had seen what looked like a line of a path and followed a very obvious and good track (almost a vehicle track) all the way down to where my car waslangskill31/08/2015

Walked with Nicola. Good well graded ascent up stalkers path, starting at burial ground car park. Still less wind on this hill than anticipated - go visit whilst it lasts. Shattered concrete trig column at highest point. Excellent views.andrew larkins25/06/2015

Parked in the burial ground car park. There is a gate opposite car park and a track leads up to join the stalkers path. This saves road walk to Ruarach.Lionel Bidwell24/08/2012
Solo fr car park just down minor rd towards Morvich; hot & sunny, excellent stalkers path which meant I could run even uphill on parts of the zigzags, and across much of the flattish upper part. Also did a little run on the road first to test niggles! A82 had been closed at Tyndrum, wrecking what I'd planned, but this was a good substitute, though I got near-sunburned and had terrible night in Kyleakin hotel, hot & noisy, drove all the way rount Glenelg but didn't go up Sgriol, another restless night in Abington Services hotel then home!)NorfolkPT2110/08/2012

It was very wet weather! I ascended Sgurr an Airgid alone from Cemetery car park near A87 main road at NG946212. I went along the road to Ruarach and along path marked on OS 1:50,000 map. I followed route shown on map which starts to east of buildings and then requires climbing a fence as gate locked. This can be avoided by starting to west of wall immediately west of buildings. At about 520m I went to col at about 570m – faint path to summit via northerly of two spurs. Cylindrical trig point. Returned more or less same way.pwbellarby04/05/1992
