Track then path along the north shore of Loch a' Bhraoin from the A832 CP to almost Feinasheen then northwards up the flank above Creag Ruigh a' Bhraghad until W of Creag Rainich. Before tackling the main summit we wandered over to the satellite West Top. Then a lovely, if pathless, ridge walk over Meall Dubh and Meall na Doire na Saobhaidhe to Meall an t-Sithe. Easy NE descent back to the road and a short last mile on tarmac. 5.25hrs. | summitter | 12/11/2023 |

From the car park at 161761. Biked to Lochivraon bothy - 3.85 miles, then directly to the summit on easy ground with CM. Around 12 miles in total in hot, sultry conditions. | bolton | 08/09/2023 |
Solo. Parked 162761 with MANY others, most of whom had presumably gone to the Fannichs. Cycled along rough track to cottage Lochivraon. Left bike and walked straight up hill. No difficulties to report but track surface for bike is bumpy and surface changes. Great views from top on sunny day of An Teallach, Fisherfield, Ben Dearg, Fannichs etc | DampandDusty | 22/07/2023 |
4 of 4 as part of back packing trip in to Loch a' Bhraoin Bothy. On the descent such a great and appetising view of Meallan an Laoigh surrounded by the glistening quartzite slabs of Sgurr Ban - a majestic little Tump surrounded by giants. | sarahk | 12/05/2023 |
biked good track to level with the col. Sleating on top | jef | 10/04/2023 |
With John from the A832. Took the track W, then SW to the end of Loch a Bhraoin, and at the small bothy & house, headed NW up to Meall Dubh, before the final ascent up to the corbett summit. Return via Meall Dubh and along the ridge to the low point then descended SE back to the track to retuen back out. Icy conditions in the morning and snow above 500m but blue skies and sun soon cleared the ice and started a thaw on the snow. Total time: 5h 22min | mproudfoot | 18/02/2023 |
R poor weather also bothy visit | Richard Tait | 13/07/2022 |
Perfect - no wind, no insects, broken sun, not too hot. 4 hrs up & down. Excellent views. | NorfolkPT21 | 02/06/2022 |
with Rob Wight on a long tiring hot day. Standard walk in and out by Loch a Bhraoin. Sensational views | alexmaclennan | 01/09/2021 |
Corbett Ghiubhais was quicker then I realised so bagged this in the afternoon. About 5 hours. Walked track as had no bike with me. It was OK, seen lots worse and the 2 bikes I did see went past fast. Walked to Lochivraon building and ascended from there. Despite it being only about 550m it was a slog. Returned by the main ridge to t-sithe from point 566. Great views. | Jhimmy | 01/08/2021 |
Could have used my bike but did no as not sure of condition of track and had plenty of time. Shoud have used it. Drizzle most of day and cloud about. Walked in on track to bothy, not in use at the moment but clean and tidy, then up over Meall Dubh(Gt); to Creag Rainich(C) and back out same way. Rather delayed on way out by bull and 5 0r 6 cows with calves walking sedately along the track in front of me. Very quie but I did not want to hassle them. | dickscroop | 09/06/2021 |
Biked north shore of the loch, still a disaster area, but being worked on. Over Meall Dubh from lodge. Warm and sunny after early morning mist. | iangalbraith | 17/09/2020 |
4th of 5, revisit. From Meall Dubh then down very nice ENE ridge for Carn nam Feithean. | Dave McG | 26/08/2020 |
Track being upgraded so is currently a quagmire but will hopefully settle down | daviemore | 01/08/2020 |

With Sue, on another cold and cloudy summer day. Cycled from A 832 car park along all of the North shore of Loch A'Bhraoin to cottage at Lochivaron then up hillside to bag Meal Dubh then summit of Creag Rainich and W top. Return same way. Bikes made a good use of the track. | Frank | 12/06/2019 |
From A832, along lochside track and straight up from Lochivraon. | davidpettit84 | 31/05/2019 |
On the last day of an iffy weather week at Gairloch. Shaky & Smithy were off Munro-bagging on the western Fannaichs, so with J along the shore of Loch a Bhraoin as far as Lochivraon past docile cattle watching the pied wagtails skimming the water. Then slogged our way up the slopes behind the house & bothy to Meall Dubh. There are traces of a path lower down to make it easier. On to the summit for a decent view with cloud coming & going from the higher tops. Very good walk back along the broad ridge picking up a path just W of Bristeadh a' Mhill Dhuibh almost to the end before dropping back to the loch. Spotted dunlin, curlews, a golden plover & lots of deer on the ridge. Much better than a simple descent to the loch. | NotReallyABagger | 24/05/2019 |
From NE, up Allt na Feine then onto NE ridge. Back over three tumps. | Topographer57 | 12/05/2019 |
With Sim after sleeping in Shenavall. Walked out to bike at Lochivraon. Light rain at times, summit clear, grey, views. Dusting of snow on top. | Rounsfell | 02/12/2018 |

Along lochside, 2km past Lochivraon bothy. Creag Rainich, then on to Meall Dubh. Descent to lochside, approx half along. | clashcityrocker | 19/06/2018 |
From Fain, followed the Allt na Fain and NE ridge | BLACKHILL | 03/05/2018 |
Solo. Nice walk back along the east ridge to the cairn on Meall an t-Sithe. | Dangerous Dave | 22/03/2018 |

This walk was a lot easier than expected: last time I walked along Loch a'Bhraoin, the path was somewhat trying, to say the least. It was quite a surprise to find a bulldozed track. Not pretty, but a lot easier than the previous bogfest. The walk up the hill from the bothy was also easy, on relatively dry ground. The views from the top were as gob-smackingly wonderful as I expected. The walk back along the ridge was really good too! | Gill | 01/08/2016 |
Misty. Will be back for view hopefully. Enjoyed run in along loch and ridge clearing to sun on way back. | davechaffey | 30/05/2016 |
Direct from Lochivroan Bothy. | Buteobuteo | 26/05/2016 |
From A832 and along Loch a'Bhroain to Lochivraon. Walked all the way although it would be possible to take a mountain bike to Lochivraon. 150 mins ascent, 120 mins down. Total 4Hrs 30mins in good dry weather. With Mike. | Bobf | 20/09/2015 |
3 of 4: From Beinn Bheag. | ChrisR | 25/11/2014 |

With Dave Roeder. From road (9:30), bike along Loch a'Bhraoin to 113731 (10:25). Crossed river, up Groban (12:10), then Beinn Bheag (13:30), Creag Rainich (16:00) via watershed & back to bikes (17:30) & car (18:20). Low cloud & light rain, so no views; cleared on descent to glorious evening. Unfit; slow progress. | dbb | 05/06/2014 |

Parked on A832 at bend to NE of Loch a'Bhraoin. Long walk along shores of loch past bothy, up hill about 2km beyond this. Trig on top, patches of rock, and magnificent views to snowy An Teallach and Fisherfield hills. The lesser hill Meallan an Laoigh to the SW displays an amazing amount of completely bare slabby rocks on its flanks. | Aye Jimmy | 30/04/2006 |

Walked on track to Loch a' Bhraoin, continuing on the north shore of the loch to reach the bothy of Lochivraon. Followed a compass bearing for point 749m*, and then the summit of Creag Rainich. It was very misty once above the glen bottom. Returned the same way. Snow above ~550m. *Subsequently identified as the Graham Top Meall Dubh. | pwbellarby | 03/03/1996 |

Corbett bagging: Creag Rainich | RHW | 07/07/1994 |
Walked in from the A832 to Loch a'Bhraoin and ascended from the bothy. Cloudy, damp day but the cloud was above the summit, probably due to higher ground to the west. | JohnW | 08/08/1991 |
