By bike from Ullapool. Quite easy bike ride, good surface and not too hilly. Took in cairn for good measure. | govanah | 20/08/2023 |
In from Oykel Bridge to schoolhouse bothy. Along to Knockdamh bothy up the south slope. Fine weather, onto Meall Liath Choire before return to Schoolhouse bothy for the night. | N.Morters | 02/05/2023 |
From Knockdamph bothy then back to East Rhidorroch. Great viewpoint. | willyross | 22/08/2022 |
Device read 11.40 miles. The river was a ‘nothing’ though had Croc s and towel to hand. V few birds. From DuagBridge where estate has crteated a nice ca park. Lumpy bumby drive to get there. Low sling cars maycatch their underside until new layer of stones etc bed in. | VerySlowPlodder | 26/06/2022 |
A nice easy walk from the Schoolhouse car park at Duag Bridge, if you don't mind paddling through the ford at Poblie (boulder hopping not an option even in dry weather). To Knockdamph, then easily up a sheep track to the S ridge, miles easier than the squidgy proto-coire. Fine views. Or they would have been if my eyes had not been full of pine pollen. The walk back was a grim struggle with my eyes swollen almost shut with the allergic reaction. Shame, it was a lovely day. Thank goodness it's an easy walk - you can do it even if you can't see very much. | Gill | 05/06/2022 |
After climbing Meall Liath Choire from Cadubh, back to bike and cycled to 258938. Steep and rocky after East Rhidorroch. Cloud was down on the hill and endured very wetting drizzle. Back down in the Glen it was lovely. 42k in 7.5 hours. | NormanW | 13/05/2021 |
Biked from Ullapool, small car park at start of private/quarry road. Beyond E.Rid. lodge track is bikeable, but beyond my standard, gave up after 1k. Freezing wind, average terrain after leaving the track. | iangalbraith | 01/05/2021 |
Bike in from Ullapool Bridge (to west) to E.Rhidorroch Lodge. | carole engel | 27/08/2020 |
Parked at spaces by gate. Cycled to East Lodge, track to main lodge is mostly tarred but after is good landrover track. Walked along road till at east ridge and up easy ground to summit then on to cairn, 2 hours 30 minutes. Down due west to bealach for route to MLC | Coinneach | 10/04/2019 |
2 of 5: From Creag a Chait. With Sam. | ChrisR | 26/06/2018 |
Cycled from just above Ullapool as far as Cadubh, then directly up and down MCL before cycling on past East Rhidorroch as far as 263940 and onto easy SW ridge. Descending cloud and increasing wind compromised the views to the south and west. Track from Ullapool is paved as far as Rhidorroch and good as far as East R but thereafter steep and stony. | Topographer57 | 01/09/2017 |
Nice bike ride in from Ullapool (drove up private road for few hudred metres and parked by gate). Left bike at East Rhidorroch, walked up stony track and onto south ridge which was much drier than surrounding ground. Direct line across to Meall Liath Choire and back down to bike. Some fascinating rock formations and topography. Easy walking throughout. Fortunately no stalking today. Bit hazy but views across to Coigach peaks still stunning. | AndrewFinnimore | 22/07/2017 |
From East Rhidorroch Lodge. Easy slopes. Majestic views. | Campbell Singer | 17/05/2017 |
The day after being turned back from the Glen because of stalking- mid July! we came back and drove to East Rhidorroch lodge having negotiated access on being asked to change our plan. Followed the track then the offturn stalkers path before bearing off at 300m on the direct ridge to Cnoc Damph. Therafer an almost direct line to Meall Liath Coire before descending to the track and van 1km short of parking spot by the lodge. | nordicstar | 29/07/2016 |
The walk up using the stalkers paths would have been nice on a better day. A lovely area. | jenx | 29/07/2016 |
Not sure if it is possible to get any wetter.Arranc explains the route I kind of reversed it. | Martin R | 22/09/2015 |

From southeast (Mullach a'Chadha Bhuidhe) then north over Rappach Water to Meall an Fhuarain. | Alan Moore | 02/06/2011 |
Mizzling rain for most of day. On bike on track to Rhidorroch Lodge, past a quarry to Cadubh. Left bike, on track to junction to top of path at a very wet bealach at 11.30. Plod into mist to a ridge and top at 12.45. No view - mist. Downhill on compass to cross river at 13.30. 2 steps underwater. to Meall Liath. | arranc | 25/07/2010 |
