With: hb; From Kildermorie Lodge by head of Loch Morie then good track onto Meall Beag & Meall Mòr. Indistinct path to wind farm then good track via Meall an Tuirc and Cnoc Gille Mo Bhrianaig before descent to Power Stn and Lealty Bridge. | Ian Baines | 19/05/2023 |
Super day out from road end at Glen Glass | Andrew Simmons | 13/05/2023 |
With Rhona, Heather & Struie from Glen Glass just north of the turning point. V cold and windy at top but there's a shelter near the summit, best used in an easterly wind | DampandDusty | 19/11/2022 |
Room for 2 vehicles without blocking gates approx. 300m E of Eilanach Lodge entrance. Did after Meall an Tuirc. | duchally | 01/11/2022 |
From near end of forest track at NH547689 (area by Eileanach Lodge now signed as 'Turning Only'), along track to Loch Glass than track angling up to Coire Ruighe Fhearchair, joining a zigzag track up to windfarm, SE from high point to summit of Meall an Tuirc, down to windfarm tracks, followed these NW to near col, then up to Meall Mor summit using a variety of foot and ATV tracks, return to near col then cut across to zigzag outward track and back to start (5h5m) | kdbennett | 01/08/2022 |
From the road end near Eileanach Lodge following the route in the SMC Guide to Grahams. Stile near the crossing over the River Glass is no longer rickety. On this occasion the gate on the other side was open. No problems with fallen trees going through the forestry, much of which has been felled. To Graham Top Meall an Tuirc and on to Meall Mòr. Once over the peat hags at the col there is a path all the way to the summit. On the descent contoured round without much difficulty after the peat hags to avoid ascending the wind farm track. A beautiful sunny morning, clouding over in the afternoon. | pwbellarby | 15/05/2022 |
With Matt, nice weather. | Adrian | 15/05/2022 |
With: hb; From Kildermorie Lodge, up An Gleannan to Creachan nan Sgadan then Meall nan Eun. Back to Creachan again then across to Meall Beag and Meall Mor. Descent via wet path to Loch Morie and Kildermorie Lodge. | Ian Baines | 14/05/2022 |
Route visiting peaks around Loch Glass, parking towards end of public road. Meall an Tuirc (496m) from near top of track to W (difficult crossing fallen trees), descent much easier to NW, then Bendeallt, Cnoc Gille Mo Bhrianaig, Meall an Tuirc (625m), Meall Mor, Meall Beag, Creachan nan Sgadan, Beinn nan Eun, Clach Sgoilte, camped below Carn Loch nan Amhaichean and continued to summit in the morning. Carn nan Con Ruadha, Gob a' Chairn then descent ENE to join path along Abhainn Beinn nan Eun and W end of Loch Glass. Returned along S side of loch. Clouds mainly above these tops. | RobertP | 03/05/2022 |

From Glen Glass road end for a round of Glas Leathad Beag, WT, Tom a' Choinnich, Meall Beag and Meall Mor. | rhalstead | 10/09/2021 |
As per the SMC Grahams book. Parked at the end of the road in Glen Glass at Eileanach Lodge, walked through the estate on the south side of the river, crossed over the bridge at the end of the Loch, turned left then first right up the forest track that leads up to the col and the windfarm to a 4 way junction. From the4 way junction picked up bits of tracks over the peat hags. Then once the other side picked up a good ATV track leading all the way to the summit. Returned the same route. 10.8 miles, 4hrs 40 mins walking time. 5hrs 15 all in. | JulieB | 15/08/2021 |
As per SMC guide for Grahams, with Meall an Tuirc en route. | IanHHill | 02/08/2021 |
Parked in big off road space about 0.4k west of Easter Ballone farmhouse (derelict). Up forest track past house and onto windfarm road. Good biking. Cold and sunny, occasional hail shower. | iangalbraith | 02/05/2021 |

Up from near Eileanach on forestry tracks, then cross moor to summit trig. | willyross | 13/09/2019 |
Parked by Eileanach Lodge, up through forestry, on to Wind Farm track and followed it to the last turbine giving access to the final ascent. Returned avoiding the WF across tussocky grass and through the forestry. | MichaelF | 26/07/2019 |
1 of 5: From the car park at Boath:572741. We initially parked at the start of the wind farm road:581738. The keeper drove down and advised us that parking there had caused difficulties for heavy lorries. He said there was a car park near his house at the road end so we drove there. It took 3 mins on the bikes back to 581738. We had a lot of pushing the bikes to gain height after the El. sub station then ok to 536732 about 300m before the last turbine where we left the bikes. Then through the peat hags and an ATV track for a while. With Sam. | ChrisR | 24/05/2019 |

the weather was horrible today snow and real high winds which played apart in the route i chose ..parked by the road at grid NH 58072/73730 room for a couple of cars and walked through the novar windfarm wind and snow making walking difficult ..walked until i came to the last turbine gr NH 53345/73275 then played dodge the the peat hags for about 200m but at least they were frozen over ..going got easier to the minor top at gr NH 52342/73950 marked with a large boulder .. continued up to the next ninor top NH52192/74438 then followed the fence line to the trig point .. very windy cold and icy.. retraced my route back 5.5 hrs all in | mikebeattie | 01/02/2018 |
From Eileanach Lodge a local didn't mind us walking past the lodge. One of her dogs barked a lot but no probs. Estate track to Loch Glass. Stile into weir but had to climb over locked gate other side. Up muddy track to wind turbines & across to summit, hags at times. Good views towards Ben Wyvis. | rogreeves | 11/05/2017 |
From south end of Loch Glass took track as rising traverse up through forest until it joined track up to nw end of wind farm. Dull easy ridge to top which commands great views of the far north particularly Ben Wyvis. | Campbell Singer | 03/05/2017 |
As Viewfinders route. After an extremely wet night. All awash, and got worse with more heavy rain en route. Atmospheric with the low cloud and thunder. | jenx | 20/07/2016 |
From parking by the lodge gates. Back 300m and cycled ro the loch start where extensive forestry harvesting ongoing. The old track just about usable but a mess in places. On top past the turbines a nervous wade through misty hags and boggy ground whilst thunder rumbled all about. Stopped before the top and clouds cleared letting us see a better way back down to the turbibes using a track of sorts. | nordicstar | 20/07/2016 |
The path less travelled from Kildermorie. A lot less travelled. There's a nice stalkers path from Loch Morie, zig-zagging through the trees, with fab views. But after the fence, the path is overgrown, and it's a very rough walk over Meall Beag to Meall Mor, with peat hags thrown in for good measure. After that, you pick up the trade route (and path) down to the Novar wind farm. There's a track down to and back along Loch Morie, which is a really beautiful place and well worth a visit. | Gill | 12/06/2016 |
Started 300m east of Eileanach car park and cycled up NE side of river and loch, then walked up rough track then due N onto ridge. Cyclists note that bridge at SE end of loch is defended by a high stile on one side and an unopenable gate on the other. | Topographer57 | 16/10/2015 |
Solo. By bike through the wind farm from the north. | amswanston | 09/08/2015 |
Along with its two tops. Very windy so after biking in went as far as possible along loch side on poor path then cut up to ridge close to final top on poor ground before heading back with tailwind on the ridge section. | dickscroop | 23/03/2015 |
4 hr walk in over the windfarm track, extremely windy | tallblond | 25/10/2014 |

Started from the end of the road up Glen Glass. Easy route through forest takes you up to the wind farm. Enjoyable walk across the heather leads to the trig and summit. | BigJ | 24/09/2014 |

Ascended from Glen Glass and Loch Glass in mist and light rain. Disappointing to have no view but maybe as well as I bumped into the wind turbines on the way down. | JohnW | 15/06/2006 |
Access to forest road. Heavy traffic building dam. Past the site on road steadily uphill in forest to final gate at 11.00. Views of Wyvis and Loch Glass. Track continued down and around to most westerly turbine on ridge. Trudge over tussock, heather and sludge to first top. More easier hags to final crest a few more hags to large cairn built like a loading platform and to trig with no FB built in at 12.45. My 6th and last Marilyn with this name. | arranc | 22/06/2005 |
