From the marked parking by the bridge over the Strathrory River. Track to the quarry, up left of quarry then a faint path appears and disappears all the way along the ridge. Loop of 4 hills, then straight back to quarry track from Cnoc an t-Sithean Mor through the first saddle - a bit rough at first but good going when out of the steep valley.Tisteln29/06/2023
With M. Track to quarry, then round over Torr Leathan and Beinn Tarsuinn. Another warm sunny day. Saw several golden plovers.douglas_easton29/05/2023

Biked from quarry access. Cannot believe the amount of household rubbish dumped in this area. An absolute disgrace.Crumblie217/04/2023
Via Baldoon and Tor Leathann. Some of the peat hags go in the right direction and are easier to walk in than on the heather. Others don't!sclater17/04/2023

Solo from car park at Strath Rory. Track prob requires bike, which I forgot. Note to self. Followed line of Allt Meadhonach before straightlinig up Tharsuinn. Across to Torr Leathann than down and around AWFUL quarry.DampandDusty15/05/2022

From Ardross to top of forest by mountain bike. Into the valley and then up south ridge. Back over Torr Leathann.Winterfloodian27/10/2020
Parked in small car park at Mains of Ardross. Up forest track and through gate onto south ridge of Torr Leathann. Visited cairn and summit, then Beinn Tharsuinn (repeat visit) (trig and summit) and Cnoc an t-Sidhein Mor. Descended SE to forest, over fence, then short distance through sparse trees to pick up forest track.PGCE24/10/2020
Bike to turbine 5, and across bogs, straight down after SaCB, old twin, following peat gully's. Dry and better than the top of the hags. Very windy but dry and good viewsiangalbraith21/09/2020
Solo trip from the east by the quarry road. Quarry not operating. Much fly-tipped rubbish being cleared from the parking area - well done chaps. Lovely day.Invicta1417/09/2020

From the quarry car park 660777, follow the track all the way to the quarry. Went left around the quarry then followed the ridge mainly on a path to Tor Leathann, then down to col on an ATV track and up Beinn Tharsuinn, then across to Sidean a Chion Bhain. To descend walked East tehn South East Down the river again traces of paths to follow to meet the track below the quarry. Walked back out along the good track. 16km 4hrs 40 waking time + stops.JulieB26/08/2020

With: solo; Parked at NH659777 and followed the muddy quarry track (ignoring signs) to the quarry then round north of the quarry up to the north east ridge of Torr Leathann. This ridge was nice to the big cairn at the top. Unfortunately it started raining heavily before I crossed the very peaty bealach then climbed up to Beinn Tharsuinn. I descended off east from this to avoid the wet peaty bealach on return. The quarry track was wetter and even more muddy on the return. The dumper trucks are massive!Ian Baines30/05/2019

An afternoon stroll on the way to Dornoch. Up the hideous quarry track, which seems to be freshly bulldozed,to the bridge below the top quarry, over this and then off piste direct to the top. Easy going across the bone dry bogs, and only a relatively short section of spongy vegetables once on the ridge. Path visible on the way down but peters out in the vegetables. A seriously messed up hill, with 2 quarries, power lines, forestry, new planting, nasty track and a wind farm to cap it all.Gill18/04/2019
From Torr Leathann was easy enough. A direct descent to the bridge at 630795. The track was wet and muddy back to the B9176. About a 4 hour solo return.bolton18/02/2019

Large car park NH 660777 followed track up the hill to quarry it was a sunday so nobody about can't see there being any conflict with quarrypersons would be easy to avoid & track doesn't go through gravel pit near car park. Up Torr Leathann, Beinn Tharsuinn & 22 minutes (in hot dry conditions)across to former twin Sidhean a' Choin Bhainrogreeves01/07/2018

i stopped at the car park grid nh66058/77670 and followed a rather iced up path as far as the bridge nh62963/79437 after the recent snow and now the melt had started it was a little boggy at the start as i climbed torrleathan but soon dried the higher i got and the heather this way was a lot shorter . great views from the cairn at the top..Turn northwest for the short descent to the bealach there is a path which soon gets lost in the peat hags and after a short climb i reached beinn thasuinn no views from here with the cloud down and the snow on the ground was struggling to determine what was sky and what was ground :) i head across a broad reach to the other 692m summit just to ensure i had completed the the hill ..head straight down over the snowfields boggy at the bottom but soon on the main pathmikebeattie26/01/2018

Showery day, cloud just above tops. Elected to cycle the turbine cluster road. Reasonable gradient, turbine 5 closest to col at 525m. Left bikes and climbed the former twin before the main top then the sub. Contoured back to bikes for a speedy descent.nordicstar27/07/2016

From the large vehicle park at Strath Rory, cycled up track which ends at a sand quarry, then up the NE ridge of Torr Leathann before cutting across to the col, where a considerable detour to the south was required to avoid crossing a treacherous peat hag. Featureless summit, hazy sunshine, strong east wind, a clearer day would have been better.Topographer5723/08/2015

Walked up the quarry road. Ascended Torr Leathann first. Good views. Lots of peat bogs to climb the main peak. Trig point has no face plate. Quite unusual. More peat bog to take in the twin summit (same height) and descent through the wind farm.BigJ25/06/2014

Decided to cycle along the older quarry road than the newer one through the horrid wind power station (even though that would taken me nearer the Marilyn summit. Fairly easy going moorland until you try for the twin as well. Good views, including Caithness.Martin R27/10/2013

During a New Year week near Beauly. With Martin66, J, JC, Otis, Shaky & the Harts from the car park on B9176 along the track & then ascending Torr Leathann first. Weather steadily deterioriated as we crossed over to Beinn Tharsuinn before clearing just as we reached the summit shortly before dusk. A rather quick descent handrailing the Allt Fuaranach to reach the outward track just after darkness fell.NotReallyABagger31/12/2012
