Forest track from SW end of Loch Seil | chalky1953 | 28/11/2018 |
Bus to south-west end of Loch Seil as before and to forestry road junction, but this time turned right up footpath which leaves forestry road between first bend from B844 and barrier. This zig-zags up through trees to join forestry road about 803196 – tyre-marks suggest some use by mountain-bikers. Left at junction about 806193, then right on to narrower track about 808196. On emerging from trees, right then left on forest rides up to ridge, then up right over forestry débris between young trees. One possible summit at top of this, another after scratchy push rightwards through trees – the two points are not intervisible, so no easy way of judging between them. Back same way to B844 and bus for Oban. Cela ne mérite pas le retour! | mainnirnamfiadh | 19/05/2018 |
After main top. Bog around 807191 is serious obstacle, and wasted much time seeking routes round its edge, eventually going to its southern end, crossing burn, heading north-eastwards round spur, right and left up forest rides, and on to western top. Still much vegetation before summit, and time running out to catch bus, so retreated down to B844 to try another time. | mainnirnamfiadh | 12/05/2018 |
