Usual route from Muiseal. Very cold day, in cloud above 600m. Quite windy too. 4 hrs up and down, quite glad it was a short day. Snow from 450m and froze terrain above 650mwychwood29/12/2023

Had a smashing 7 mile route planned up the tourist route from My ideal to first do Ben Hope then the two other tops on the way down. In the end was pleaded enough to manage the Munro. Snow from 400m. Calf deep from 700m. Total white out from 800m. Only way could tell was going up hill was because it was still hard work. Blinding snow on summit only time for a quick photo then off on a SSW compass bearing 5 miles in 6 hours. A great day.mntainman06/05/2021

Day started fine and humid. After long drive from Northumberland, we went up from the car park with full packs and tents with the hope of wildcamping on the summit. Weather turned on us halfway up with rain but worse was to come. We abandoned heavy packs before last push to the summit. Weather came in really hard on the top with high winds and cold freezing rain. Visibility dropped and we had to use GPS to get back off the top. My extra layers were still in my pack further below and we had to make a hasty retreat after bagging the top. Shivering with cold, wind, and more rain... we abandoned the idea of camping on the top and set up camp back at the car park. My first Munro bagged.NorthernWayfarer01/08/2018

Started at Alltnacaillich farm. After waterfall, had to cross fast flowing stream (got boots wet), where there's a plaque about a death of a 17-year old in 1978. Followed ridge North until joining main path. Came back down on main path which was pretty muddy and slippery. Down to car park at GR461476 and then back along road.tsharp07/06/2015

camped on summit with two friends who'd never wild camped, nor climbed a munro before. Very long and lazy walk in, windy night on summit and an even windier descent. Midsummer's day - it didn't actually get properly dark but clouds hid light well.locomountaineer21/06/2008

Solo. From parking area at the start of what is now the main route of ascent of Ben Hope 2.5 km north Dùn Dornaigil Broch. There is now an obvious path which climbs up to and through an obvious break in the cliffs. I followed this path. Conditions were not good so I did not try any more adventuresome route. It rained and was very misty and windy. I reached the summit and immediately set off down, following the path back to the starting point.pwbellarby24/07/2007

Drove to this peak in a real snow storm and wondered if I was going to get out ok. Arrived in car park to find a car there with a sleeping occupant. I got ready and the occupant awoke and asked if he could join me. His name I think was Alex Findley said he had served in the Queens Own Highlanders and that he had done Mont Blanc. I just said I was a complete novice. I lead up as snow deep and I had a few years age benefit on him. He followed my footsteps to summit which for me seem to take ages. However the dulux white plethora of white peaks made it all worthwhile. My companion arrived took a pic and then immediately descended leaving me to absorb the views by diffusion. Glorious. Second time was with Martin Stewart on 14/02/2012 in a howling gale.iandesbottes01/03/2002

With my sons, Jonathan and James. From Dun Dornaigil Broch. We walked along the road to Alltnacaillich Farm, and up the path to the waterfall, then a traverse of Leitir Mhulseil (faint path, not shown on map) to join the main path to Ben Hope. The descent was via the main path and along the road. It was very warm, dry and hazy with some snow on the ground.pwbellarby18/04/1987
Alone as a mad dash afterthought, having already climbed Ben Klibreck in the morning. In snow straight up and down the path with poor visability. SS03/04/1987
A crazy w/e all the way to N of Scotland with Mark driving (his idea)to compensate for miserable rain wrecking ice climbing dreams in Glencoe. Put tent up next to Loch Hope at midnight having given up trying to sleep in cramped car to avoid rain. Drove to N coast for b'fast - the rubber ring in my trangia caught fire = pong and smoke. Mark was awfully and worryingly ill with his asthma, coughing and wheezing and being sick but gamefully struggled on uphill, with me carrying his sack, at a snails pace with lots of stops, to summit taking a drawn out almost 4 hours. Snowy and black clouds with bright bursts of sunshine.Chris Pearson28/02/1987
