Best way is from Ardminish between the Church and the Hotel, I tried from the wonderful Western Link track(route 13), not my best idea it's an impenetrable jungle.DavieRuts14/10/2023
On way back from Meall a' Ghlamaidh. Waymarked path seems to run out at NR 6433 4906 then heavy going to summit. Visited S summit which is lower, then NE across pasture to join paved path at back of hotel. My last 2 Gigha Tumps on a sunny afternoon.RHW21/05/2023
Up through the big house gardens with Peter Milne up to high bowing point of islay & Jura then track north and along grassy path through gorse to evenually unmanicured slightlyhigher tump summitvegibagger21/05/2023
1st of 6 tumps on a 20km route around Gigha from Ferry jetty to Ardminish then via gates to reach North side of summit area then via brambles and outcrops to the true summit. Onwards to lower Knoll but sporting a nice grassy path taking me down to the road. Continuation to Ardlamey and Meall a' Ghlamaidh...Dazingdale17/05/2023
6th of 6 Tumps, and just made the ferry back. Access the N-S track 200m W of 'main road' in Ardminish from hotel, playground, or houses to N. Then W up hill. A couple of bramble patches to get through (around?).Minto14/06/2022
Went up from road just N of hotel. Compared to some of the other hills on this island it was relatively easy but still some brambles, bracken and whin to negotiate. Carried on to Meall a' Glamaidh over some of the most difficult ground I've ever traversed.sclater19/01/2020
Continued over this on way back to village from Ardlamey. Took track along forest edge from south. More thick prickly vegetation, but made it to the top and easier from there down direct to hotel. With R and B.jenx04/06/2019
Parked at St Cathan's Ch. Good track leads off through dense and very high gorse to a wall/field gate, after which it's back to filthy bracken and bramble for the last 180m. Not nice vegetation.jonglew31/10/2018
Debs & Talisker, from Cathans Curch, trod over south summit, hop thru gate then braken bashing the 100yrds to the top. Intention was to do Meall a' Ghlamaidh but will leave till bracken and brambles aren't an issue.Mountain Goat16/06/2018
There's a sneaky way through from the west side, using a gate into cattle pasture from the north and circling round. A vague gap in the trees gives direct access to the fairly easy summit heather and rocksColin Crawford06/08/2016
Fifth Tump of the day. Part of a continual run from Na Crogachan Pier at the north of the island. This top was covered in gorse and brambles, difficult to find away through.Shutterlag05/05/2016
