Anti-clockwise circuit of Loch Meadie with a swim in the Loch before return out via Meadie Ridge. Warm sunny day.N.Morters03/05/2023
Clockwise around Loch Meadie from minor road, 2 marilyns plus 2 more tumps.Topographer5727/08/2021
Circuit above Loch MeadiePaulineD03/07/2021
A circuit of Loch Meadie from the South taking in Meadie Ridge, then this one and Cadb with the trig on the way back to the car. 17k.NormanW14/05/2021
parked - there may be a barrier now- at the end of f forestry track- looked for an ATV to get through and out of the forestry. I should have paid more attention nd marked this (electronically?)- as on the way back I made an abs boob er ooh- and had to back track several times to find my way back thro the forest. so pay attention . out of the forest- an ATV track which will take you to the end of the trees- then take a bearing and walk- off piste. the usuall and now expected hummocky tussocky etc . all that sutherland excels at. first hill of the day . 9.75 miles and only 4 hours 17 minsVerySlowPlodder02/08/2020
Start as Rick described. 3 atv tracks from this, took NE track to high point whereupon the track turns at right angles through trees to forest edge. Deer tracks to summit. Dry, ok underfoot, mild and good views today.iangalbraith11/07/2020
From parking area on minor road to South, with Ellie dog.BLACKHILL20/06/2019
A mild day, slight breeze, good views, a long dry spell and low vegetation at this time of year made it a reasonable visit. I will not be going back!elizyanne27/04/2019
3 of 5: From Meadie Ridge.ChrisR10/05/2018
Complete trudgery; miles of staggering around in bogs to bag a non-event of a miniscule summit, albeit with good views. Parked at the gravel pits at the end of Loch Meadie. Up Coire Buidhe, nice walking on fairly dry moor (many drains) with sparse vegetables, and contoured round Cnoc an Daimh Beag to Loch a’Bhuic, various deer tracks through tussocks, across a boggy col, then up the hill, hard work on shaggy, spongy vegetables. A relief to get onto the smoother summit ridge. Summit cairn on an outcrop, but the views are better from the end of the ridge. A seriously tedious walk back. You don’t realise how much down and up there is until the way out. Really wish I’d known this was a Marilyn when I walked Meadie Ridge (a good hill); the horseshoe would involve less suffering.Gill09/05/2018
Weather fair with moderate wind.MountainMac30/04/2017
A good way in from the east via the forest track.jenx21/06/2016
Up the Tongue road from Altnaharra. Possible to turn into forest and drive on ungated good track to GR56402 40607, watch for fallen trees! From here the hill is visible (in 2016) to NW. The wide ride in its direction can be followed to GR56300 40841 where a narrower ride plus ATV track drops down the hill and out the forest. The hill then lies 2.5km across a reasonably easy moorland plod. The cairn on top has lost its yellow stone. 2hr round trip.nordicstar21/06/2016
Loch Meadie loop - as Jim Fothergill.Chris Peart19/06/2016
From NC492395 a round of 9518, 1145, 1147 & 9528. 10.1 miles in 5 hours.Jim.Fothergill21/05/2016
From the east, ground not too bad, plenty of deer tracks. Prime stalking country but no probs today being a Sunday.AndrewFinnimore14/09/2014
It was between Cnoc an Daimh Beag, which had the distinction of having a trig, and Meadie Ridge. Squelch. Actually, it also had good view of B Loyal.Martin R28/05/2014
weather forecast bad, but did it anyway with Alison, Jon and Anne. on the way back we got really wet.tallblond01/09/2012
Clockwise circuit of tops around Loch Meadie, from road at SW end of Loch. Less boggy than expected, keeping to high ground.mae13/07/2012
Downhill on wet moorland to the edge of a plantation and across the moor more or less on a level to pass some shielings to cross a stream. At 450' this was 250' lower than the start 3/4 hour before! Numerous deer in the wide plain moved out of sight. Across a shallow stream and up over less spongy stuff to visible horizon and the first crag at 900'. Past a large cairn for a mile on a broad sloping plateau to find a scattering of 8 stones on a crag at 533427. 14.10. This was 6' higher than the top of a green swell at 533429 shown in the book.arranc30/07/2008
From Meadie Ridge. Ran out of daylight with sans torch. So, returned to the road following W edge of Loch Meadie short-cutting boggy peninsulas. Kissed the road when it arrived.Eddie04/12/2005
