parked just south of viewpoint and then up burnt heather to south ridge and then easily to summit. Fantastic views | grumpy | 25/05/2023 |
Solo trip, in the morning while waiting for low cloud to lift. Most of hill burnt in recent wildfire, which does make walking easy. The hill is Old Red Sandstone conglomerate with glacial erratics of Moine psammite. | Invicta14 | 24/04/2022 |
From car park on E side. Up to viewing platform, then rough path up to crags. Went up through a narrow gully: steep and vegetated, but good steps. Not so easy to find on the way back without a GPS track! | PGCE | 04/05/2021 |
From decent carpark on eastern side of hill. Steep uphill from there, surprised we did not find a rough path. | willyross | 10/08/2020 |
i was tired. the vegetation was v high it was windy job done | VerySlowPlodder | 15/10/2019 |
Dry and clear walk up steep slopes from new car park to gain lovely views. | Dugswell2 | 21/05/2019 |
From the new car park (NC 6097 5277). Straight up the hill, avoiding the crags - bit brutal. | jonglew | 21/05/2019 |
Good steep ascent from quarry. Best to head round slightly to north where the slopes are easier. | jenx | 24/08/2018 |
With Jenx and Brther from parking at the old quarry to East | nordicstar | 24/08/2018 |
Steep ascent from the road to the east. There is a cairn. | Play2End | 20/06/2017 |
Up and down from road summit to NE. Rough ground but short route. | Eddie | 20/08/2016 |
From disused quarry to the east. A nice easy sub-Marilyn to end the day? No, it's steep and the vegetation is long. Detoured north around the worst of the terrain and ascended via a ledge across the north face. | Topographer57 | 22/08/2015 |
Parked in the disused quarry and climbed from there - quite steep to start. | Chris Peart | 23/11/2012 |
