Parked in southernmost quarry near track to Greamachary (NC 8801 3761). At Greamachary headed up to the col then due N on a direct line up here over increasingly steep gound. Doubled back for Meall a' Bhuirich and on to Creag Sail a' Bhathaich, and return for a 16.4k round.jonglew17/11/2023
Parked off the A897, in a quarry just south of the track to Greamachary. Once over the level crossing and a broken bridge we met a stalker and his clients in their car. They were very friendly and cancelled their activities in the area as we were walking there! Found the ATV track to the col then followed fence to base of hill. Steep but easy walk to the broken trig on the summit. With jonglew.Dangerous Dave17/11/2023
A revisit via Greamachary. The gamekeeper tells me that the damage to the bridge was due to a lost HGV driver, good grief! Up the ATV track to the bealach but the ATV track I found last time has gone. I went up the SW side of the hill (to see the 2 hill fort walls) and back over the SE side, steep, then descending rough stuff, then short grass to avoid the shite at the bealach and rejoin the ATV track.Gill215/11/2023
From Ben Griam Mor. Easier descent than expected, generally slightly left of the NE shoulder. If there were any stepping stones over the stream they weren't very obvious or good, so plodged across, water up to mid calf. Then a surprisingly easy plod, the vegetation getting thinner and drier higher up. Spent a while at the summit. Faint views of the Orkneys, along with most of Caithness and the Flow Country, Morven and Helmsdale hills, south towards Easter Ross, Ben More Assynt lurking behind Ben Klibreck, Ben Hee, Ben Loyal, Ben Hutig and the north coast. Returned to the loch outflow stream, then round the south of the two lochs to the boat house and the good track back. Great hill, excellent weather, bagging highlight of the week.Owen B23/09/2023
Over from Ben Griiam Mor in deteriorating weather. Back out via route to south of the two lochs.Chris Peart27/04/2023
Parked in the parking area just south of the track. Followed the route in the Hugh's book. Up the track for about 1km, then cut up to the ridge using various animal and bits of ATV tracks, easily up to the summit (1hr 5 from the car). Off the back ridge, hit a rocky bit, went right and then took a fairly steep ascent down maybe should have gone left, Hugh's book doesn't mention this steep rocky bit). Pretty much direct line across and up Ben Griam Beg. Off the back ridge then across dry bog ( not sure I'd like to do this in the wet) to beach at top corner of Loch Druim a Chilabhain, along Northern side of loch then took direct line to Loch Coire Nan Mang, around to boathouse and then track back to start. 10 miles, out for 6hrs 45m (including a short lunch but not much more stopping, but I'm slow downhill over rough stuff) think if I did it again I wouldnt return the same way as it could be very boggy, I'd do what the old Corbetts book did and come down from BGB the ascent route and JulieB27/06/2022
A fine hill to finish section 16C. From the east, plenty of parking close to the level crossing for the track leading to Greamachary, some sort of shooting lodge. Good track, nice views with mist blowing around. A quad track goes up to the bealach. I made the mistake of leaving it to plough through bogs, tussocks and rough stuff to get onto the ridge, joining the track again to a prominent boulder. Lovely walking to the top of the hill, steep with easy vegetables. Fine views. The folks that built the fort must have been either very scared to put it in such an inaccessible place or showing off to the neighbours. More sensibly, I followed the quad track all the way back from the boulder, the slight detour to the SW avoiding the bogs is worthwhile for the extra speed down the hill.Gill27/11/2020
From Greamachary. Fog and thick cloud so on the compass.David Bremner19/08/2020
From near the Garvault Hotel, over Ben Griam Mor first then Beg - and back round the two lochs to the start. 15.7k.NormanW17/07/2020
Lift to track just north of Loch an Ruathair. Walked over both Girams to Garvault where I was stayingtrimarc216/05/2019
From BGM. Crossed loch outlet 150M from loch on stepping stones after dry April. Summit in 1 hour in very windy conditions. Cloudy with restricted views. Back by 2 lochs to fishing hut and along track. Car to car in 4hours 45 minutesCoinneach23/04/2019
A nice looking hill. The fort was a disappointment; not a patch on some others (fe Bennachie). Nice to see Hoy.Alan Moore20/05/2018

2 of 3: From Ben Griam Mor.ChrisR29/08/2017
From Ben Griam Mor, decent down steep ridge avoiding crags, not so easy in snow. Crossed the outflow of the loch thanks to a large pink granite boulder and deep breath...but dry feet! Easy slope to summit. Return via a 2nd boulder hop and skip to follow lockside round to the boat house and track back to car. Drove to Beinn Mhealaich mid afternoon.N.Morters03/03/2017
Both Griams from B871. Good path to lochan then reasonably easy ground over the tops.AndrewFinnimore05/10/2014

From Ben Griam Mor. With a party of 7 other hill baggers who happened to be on the same hills at the same time. That was lucky, if I had been alone I am not sure if I would have managed the crossing of the outflow stream from Loch Druim a'Cliabhach.Topographer5707/06/2014
W Jenx and 5 others. Parked at track end to East, followed that then circuit over both Griam's, Returned via Lochside track and the track from fisherman's cottage. The river crossing OK. Garvault Hotel / bar open which was good before annual RHB dinner at Helmsdale's Belgrave Hotel.nordicstar07/06/2014
Track to Loch Coire nam Mang, over both then back round the lochs. Maybe not the quickest but stunning views all day. Hot and sunny.iangalbraith26/06/2012
Revisit. Trig split in two, FB gone but spider (with asphalt plug) still present. Great view on a lovely morning (pity about the afternoon... on Creag Mhor...) From ESE, good track to (habitable but unoccupied) Greamachary, reasonable terrain beyond. Descended SE via the HuMP and the P30 then waded the loch (thigh deep at the inflow).RHW22/05/2011
from Griam Mor. Careful descent detour to the right on crags with heather. Hail drops. To flattish wide basin and across river getting both feet wet at 12.40. Second long tramp over wetter moor gradually rising to a line of tussock/ deer grass at an increasing angle of climb up to the start of stone runs and the first wall of the highest hill fort in Britain. A final pull up on close heather and rocks to the dome top at 13.45. Trig destroyed. Extremely long walk back to car at 16.00. Rain set in, in earnest.arranc19/06/2008
Date is first visit. Notes from later...fine hill as good as it looks, fine summit, great view. B871@787378; pass Mor on E flank for Beg, return via fine outcroppy NE ridge RHW16/10/2001
