Parked on the new A9 at the layby 057180. Walked down to the hairpin, across the road, steeply up through bracken to scale the fence to the open hillside, not nice. Then to the high point of the felled plantation and line of pylons, and onto the barely discernible ATV track to the mast. The gravel road from the mast was very wet, as was the mossy, spongey terrain over to the trig and the true summit. Took a direct line back to the hairpin which was a little better and led to an easily opened gate onto the old A9 bridge. Probably should have started from nearer Navidale like most others. | Owen B | 20/09/2023 |
From Navidale via the road to the Radio/phone mast. | IanHHill | 25/06/2023 |
With Yeltzbagger and ketzster. Met ketzster at the start of the track to the radio mast. Easy walk up then a trudge around the bog looking for the highest point. Great views as far as Assynt. Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Down in the dark. | Stevie n Tay | 20/11/2022 |

Parked on old road at ND039172, through 2 gates, straight up southern slopes, didn't fancy the private road and dogs MUST be on a lead at all times business. With Ellie dog. | BLACKHILL | 16/06/2019 |
Up the service road, visited both summit and trig, just as weather closing in | N.Morters | 16/03/2019 |
From Navidale. The gate is firmly locked, so it's a stroll up the tarmac to the mast, then strike out across heather, hags and bog to the top. Fairly dull in the mist but very easy. | Gill | 28/02/2019 |
From Snowgate with Gill. Gate locked so walked up asphalt access road to mast compound, then across the rough. | jonglew | 28/02/2019 |

During a New Year week in Helmsdale, with Martin66, J, JC, Otis, Shaky, Smithy & Hunts, set off from the end of the minor road at Navidale & followed the transmitter access track. Crossed frozen ground to the top. Just as well it was frozen too... | NotReallyABagger | 30/12/2014 |
Parked at side of large gateway ND03573 16952, just beyond the start of the transmitter access road – Through gate & up tarmac access road to junction with stone track just before small communications tower – Up stone track to bend & police notice – Made way across moor to unmarked summit. Parked over bridge on old A9 road. Took tarmac access road all the way up to mast and then over flat heathery moor to featureless un-marked 'summit'. Better views from the edges of the plateau. | Man of Kernow1 | 08/06/2014 |
Parked on old A9 and walked up tarmac road. Possible to walk but it was a nice day, the morning after the annual RHB dinner so clearing the head was useful. Nice trig on top, summit a hundred metres or so back up fence line. | nordicstar | 08/06/2014 |
If you feel brave you could drive to the radio mast, as it is tarmac all the way, just two gates at the start. Otherwise it is about half an hour to get to the mast, and a bit longer to find the top, not easy, trig point is obvious. | tallblond | 07/06/2014 |
From Sutherland/Caithness boundary stone car park on A9. Through walk over twin-top, which was deleted the ext day, to Braigh na h-Eaglaise | Minto | 06/06/2014 |
Mast road sign stated private so decided not to risk driving through lockable gates, been humiliated too often! Parked E of hairpin bend then ascended from bend itself via a gate in the deer fence. Steep at first. Walked full length of ridge. | Topographer57 | 06/06/2014 |
Walked up road to summit | AndrewFinnimore | 18/08/2013 |
