Round of Conival, Ben More Assynt and Ben More Assynt South Top. Took the good path in from Inchnadamph and up Conival. Across the ridge to Ben More Assynt via it's W top and up to the munro summit. Followed the path across the ridge to the S top - it's a fairly pleasant ridge in summer, no real exposure or technical sections (just one lump of rock that can be clambered over or around). Headed south after the S top and then before the ascent to Carn nan Conbhairean, dropped very steeply down the side of a gully to the valley floor, and then skirted west of Dubh-Loch Mor and up to the bealach between Conival and Breabag, and then the intermittent path back out to the original inbound track, and back to Inchnadamph. Total time 7h 11min - very hot day.mproudfoot17/06/2023

Walk in from Inchnadamph up Conival and along ridge to Ben More Assynt. Relatively easy day. Cloud base at 900 metres although cloud cleared as I descended. Time taken 7 hours 15 minutes. Although I spent a lot of time chatting and then relaxing on the summits. Distance 11.5 miles 3868 feet of ascent.isabelle06/06/2023

1/2 - from Inchnadamph - straight-forward walk in along Gleann Dubh. Gets a bit step as you head northeast - the scramble at the top does look a bit intimidating but is simple. Cloud down to 750m. I/M rain. Cold wind. Limited views. From summit descended to East......wychwood12/06/2022

From the public car park in front of Inchmadamph Hotel, set off hobbling with stiff Achilles as a result of tough ascents through knee deep soft snow up Ben Klibreck and Ben Hope 2 and 3 days ago respectively. Followed River Traligill along Glean Dubh before ascending alongside Allt a'Choinne Mhill. This brought us to the bottom of a 300m ascent up the north shoulder of Conival. Returned to this summit on way back after going on to Ben More (Assynt).mntainman10/05/2021

Bagged with Ben More Assynt (998m) from the Inchnadamph car park in the north west highlands. These are two hills that I had planned on getting multiple times, when I lived in Inverness, but there was always an excuse not to, so I’m very chuffed to have finally bagged them. In the wind shelter on Conival I met a very friendly 73 year old called Keith and we paired up for the rest of the day. 09:40hrs in total sunshine and blue skies till 5pm then overcast but dry.chillyman815/07/2019

Reached from the car park at Inchnadamph on a eleven mile walk to claim the county top of Sutherland Ben More Assynt. Walk took around seven hours in winter conditions (beware of the pink rock as this can be very slippery) and the path can be difficult to pick out at times but a excellent ridge walk none the less.WAYNE ROWLETT24/12/2018

From Inchnadamph (Loch Assynt) along Traligill to Conival and then along the ridge to Ben More Assynt. Cloudy conditions, improving, but strong cross wind on ridge across to Ben More Assynt.knarf29/08/2018
Weather started cloudy but fine. We hoped that the cloud would lift before we reached the main climb to the summit. It didn't. It was very windy after the small scramble. At a guess, 30-40mph constant wind with gusts over 40mph. Enough wind to make you fall over when it briefly stopped. Decided not to proceed to Ben More Assynt in such wind. A good call because no sooner had we left the summit than the rain hit really hard. All our 'waterproof' gear failed and we returned to the car soaked to the skin through all of our layers. But great fun. My 2nd Munro bagged.NorthernWayfarer04/08/2018

From Inchnadamph Lodge, the path is clear (even after it ends on the map) all the way over Conival and on to Ben More. Given that 5 hours of the 7 were in the fog, that's just as well. The walk along the river at the start and end was lovely. The climbing and descending in the fog was slippy and quite tough! However county top 17 complete.callumorr25/07/2016

Got the bike bus from Inverness to Inchnadamph. After checking in headed up the track on what promised to be a very hot day. Made good time and met a couple on the way down at the Bealach. Did a little scramble at the head wall and picked up the path over the boulders plateau. Met more people all on the way down. The clouds were a. It threatening but came to,nothing. Reached the false summit and thought the heavens we're going to open. Reached the summit at 15.30. Good going for me having started at 11.45. Met a Dutch couple there just leaving. Still good, but not same quality as other hills in this area. Conival and Ben More Assynt are epic. The ridge to Munro Top is quite narrow and exposed. The usual route to Conival & Ben More Assynt from Inchnadamph via Gleann Dubh with Shaky & Smithy. Misty on top & raining by the time we reached Ben More Assynt. Back by the same route except for a detour to visit the bone caves. (Again on 29/12/02 with Shaky this time with snow underfoot & snow showers all day. Another attempt with Davy Bell in full winter conditions was abandoned at the col beneath Conival: we struggled to get the car back out of the car park at Inchnadamph!)NotReallyABagger31/05/2001

Climbed a few times, but the most memorable route is starting with A'Ghlas Bheinn up an easy, steep, grassy gully, over Beinn Uidhe (a big pile of boulders requiring a positive attitude) and then along the ridge to Conival. There's a brilliant scramble down the SE ridge, then down to Inchnadamph.Gill01/01/2000

Cairngorm Club weekend meet based at Elphin. I positioned my car at Ben More Lodge. I walked with James Bellarby and other club members from Inchnadamph up Gleann Dubh climbing up to the north ridge of Conival and up ridge to the summit of Conival. We continued to west top and main top of Ben More Assynt and then down the south ridge over the south top, Carn nan Conbhairean and Meall an Aonaich to Benmore Lodge. Weather good. Ascent from Inchnadamph, full of interest. Limestone country at its base with little cliffs dotted with Mountain Avens, a confusing col with little lakes and crags, then the barren quartzite ridge took shape. Marvellous view of Quinag, further afield a mix of rocks and cloud.pwheeler30/05/1989

With a friend. After staying at Elphin outdoor centre. From Inchnadamph Hotel up Gleann Dubh. We climbed steep snow on to the ridge of Conival. We were in continuous softish snow thereafter until after the end of the south ridge of Ben More. We reached Conival and Ben More Assynt and went along the ridge to the south top. We continued over Carn nan Conbhairean and returned via Dubh Loch Mor and Gleann Dubh. Mist on the top of Conival cleared before we reached it. There was a short snowy shower just before Conival was reached. Thereafter the weather got better and better. It was warm, sunny and clear. There were superb views. South ridge of Ben More interesting in the snow conditions. A super trip.pwbellarby27/04/1986

Cairngorm Club Inchnadamph meet. With four members of the club. From Inchnadamph Hotel via Gleann Dubh to Conival. A way was found up the cliffs to the right of where River Traligill plunges over cliffs. We had lunch on the summit and went on to Ben More Assynt. Two members of the party returned the same way. Three of us continued along the ridge to the south summit, then Carn nan Conbhairean. The rope was used but it wasn't really necessary. The return was via Dubh Loch Mor.
