Easy road plod from ferry terminalColin Crawford25/07/2023
8:45 ferry from Hoy, Park up at bottom of road to the north and walk up the hill on the road via a lovely stop and chat to some golden brown cows, one of which no. 600500 had courage to sniff and lick my hand almost immediately and quickly let me caress and scratch its head and stroke its ears. Very special. There's no tower. Just a grassy mound in a field.vegibagger02/09/2022
Lots of road walking from the pier. What's the origin of the name? Coffee and cake from the cafe at the village community hall.Minto13/08/2022
Walked along road from the village, past the WWII ruins. Track into grassy field. Solo.Dangerous Dave09/08/2022

A day on Flotta for the 2 hills, the 2 trigs, and 13 benchmarks. Community cafe a must visit. I wonder if what's left of the 'tower' is the long, springy grassed mound at the GR... is there a base under all that turf? The name appears on the 1880 map so it's not referring to any WWI or WWII tower.jonglew28/07/2022
Not very clear where the top is, so had a wander around the tussocks with Richard M's abney.jenx28/07/2018
Rough grass moorland short distance from road. With Rick, Jenny, Bryher and a reluctant Alan. High point grassy mound but more natural dome of hill is 30m to the NE (ND 37191 93334 ~20cm lower than top of mound)RichardM28/07/2018

Tussocky area. Best side of the island by far. Done with Rob W & Ken W.Adrian04/06/2014
Tower (presumably the smallish old military building) is some way to SE, hence name seems a misnomer. Some rapid walking needed for this one, quick foot Tour de Flotta.RHW04/06/2014
