Fine but cold Sunday. Walked across moors on good path from Inverarish. Did 2 tumps as well. Remained at the top for about an hour with binoculars looking for wildlife and was rewarded with good sightings of a sea eagle and a golden eagle. Despite it being midday Sunday- I saw no people all day!trimarc214/05/2023

Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Followed end section of walk highlands route as per route picture. Good path all the way, very windy. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/skye/duncaan.shtml STAGE 5 Beyond the loch, keep below the escarpment; the path seems to peter out until it meets a clearer path coming in from the right. Keep ahead until a second loch, Loch na Meilich, is reached; this is the island water supply. Take the clear path which heads diagonally uphill to the right of the loch. Soon the path doubles back to the right, the first of a series of zig-zags up the steep slopes to Dun Caan.thejackrustles20/08/2020

Walked alone, after abandoning my attempt to climb in the Skye Cuillin due to descending cloud and rain. Raasay stayed fine and dry, though overcast. Used the tourist route from the road at Balmeananch. Easy footpath over moorland with Dun Caan not seen until half way. A steep trench must be crossed at Loch na Meilich, with an interesting sandy beach on the loch, followed by the steep last pull up the volcano-like cone. View stunning of Skye, surrounding islands, and mainland peaks. Well worth the £16 ferry crossing. Get a coffee in Raasay House afterwards.jamessteel10027/07/2018
