GMC May Bank Holiday Week 30th May 2016 Tara & Chris Russell jps66630/05/2016
An ideal day sunny cool air walking up from Glen Brittle campsite after a luxury coffee. The steady walk to the base of the great stone shoot an old volcanic crater, populated by a range of bivouac stone walls created by a bivouac building workshop it would seem. The stone shoot delivered what it promised a moving hillside on the way up and the way down. The summit was airy with tremendous views all round. Three young climbers were tripping across the sloping slabs above the void an all sides.. With tremendous effort we descended the GSS slipping, sliding and grinding or way down the GSS and on back to the Glen floor.david.walker4015/05/2016

After The Inaccessible Pinnacle, we went on Sgurr Mhic Choinich, Collie's Ledge and Sgurr Thearlaich before going on to the highest point on Skye. Early mist had cleared but a little patch drifted below us on the summit ridge, giving our Brocken Spectres and Glories. A wonderful, unforgettable day. Via Abrahams Climb grade IV winter climb. Bottom of the route was covered in verglass and the top covered in snow. Both Pete and I fell off once each but luckily only when seconding. Pete also dropped an axe but found it sticking upright out of the snow in the stone shoot when we descended. A Perfect winters day and we watched the sunset from the summit as the sky turned pink.mindlessflogger25/12/1996

Repeat of a last year, (again with Tony) but could see it all this time in sunshine and the dry !- all so much easier and reassuring when it is dry and you know where you are going form previous knowledge rather than wondering if you are climbing up / along a dead end. However without last year;s cloud and rain we could see the drops all too wellChris Pearson16/06/1985

The first of several ascents. This was from Glen Brittle by the stone chute. Cloud on top at first, but returned with some fellow hostellers from the top of the stone chute. By this time the summit had cleared. Ascended in snowy but clear conditions 03/04/1983. However heavy snow on the descent of the stone chute. Ascended from Sgurr Sgumain in good weather 29/8/1983. Descended to Sgurr Sgumain 14/04/1990. Half way down at the place where there was a near fatal accident a year before in icy conditions, there was hard snow. Made a scary descent.JohnW30/08/1979
