Absolute brilliant morning with perfect conditions and spectacular views!Kevthecat12/11/2023
Solo round of Blabheinn summit and S top from car park by Loch Slapin. Took normal path up to summit, then across short traverse to the south top - barely a scramble. Descended SE ridge down to Fionna-Choire and then linked back up with inward path back to the car. Damp start but ended up with blue skies - total time 3h 45min.mproudfoot09/07/2023
With Eve. Set off early on beautiful sunny morning, with clear blue skies and great views all round throughout the ascent. Rough walk up loose path from corrie, especially the scree gully but wasn't difficult to navigate, and after this is straightforward path up to summit with its magnificent views out west of the Black Cuillin.RufusHodge12/05/2023

Solo up the normal route from the car park on the west side of Loch Lapin. Excellent path up for the most part, with a small amount of hands-on-rock. Unfortunately the clear forecast turned out to be completely wrong, and I was soaked before I had the good sense to put my waterproofs on. No views either :( Will have to revisit this one. Total time: 3h 39mmproudfoot21/06/2022

A dawn start race against incoming clag, via the 'Tourist' route, which it deffo isn't once one is above the Fionna-choire (FC). The 'motorway' from the car park peters out into a maze of very faint tracks, presumably where people fan out in search for the way onward, above the FC, up R, until the harsh terrain forces them back into a smaller number of possibilities, where a few scree paths become clear. This is not a hill to descend its upper half in poor viz, with gashes, crags and gullies waiting to catch the unwary. Looked at the SW top but declined the verglass on the scrambly rocks. Just got back to the FC as the viz vanished.Isbjorn Winter Round09/01/2019

A beautiful day during our holiday at Tarven cottage in Portree. Great path into the hill from Loch Slapin Found the path onto the Main summit correctly this time. One difficult section of scree and one tricky short scramble move about 1-200 feet below the summit. I did not fancy returning the same way. I also wanted a look at the route to the south top - still as unpleasant and exposed looking as ten years' previously so bottled it again. An unpleasant descent of the scree into the corrie.langskill12/10/2015

Possibly the finest mountain I've climbed. Camped at Loch Slapin before climbing it. Thick mist atop, a group of walkers suggested I leave and do something else. Ten minutes after they left the mist dropped and I spent 3.5 hrs alone on the summit with a perfect temperature inversion. Hard to describe how intensely magical it was being up there. A very treasured memory.Jake99426/07/2008

With Colin & Tim. Did the superb challenging Clach-Glas - Blaven traverse, took in Garbh-bheinn first. Fun scrmbling up Balvem after a TRICKY moment finding a way off Gach Glas. Tim strugled to follow a chimeny I went up - so i dangled my foot down and lifted his sack up on my boot ! the Sun slanted through cloud giving good light effect.I went off to add the South top then a great long boot trashing scree run down alongside the dramatic Prow.Chris Pearson24/07/1986

Iain says Incidentally our rather strange descent route was the same one used by the Willink brothers on the first recorded ascent of the hill - they couldn't get down the bottom bit of the gully either and escaped up the same crap chimney we did. They finished in the dark though. Up Glen Slig and Fraoch Choire (hard going) to the top of Druim Eadar da Choire (I've a pic of Paddy doing calisthenics on top). Then over Garbh Bheinn & Clach Glas and up that nasty little wall and the fun chimney groove to Blaven. Down Willinks Gully (west of the col between the tops) until it got nasty near the bottom, at which point we went back up a bit and escaped up a chimney full of shattered red crap. Then down open easy slabs and grass to Glen Slog.Capt Malbec21/05/1981
First of several ascents. Bus from Portree to Luib. Walked through to Loch Slapin. Ascended in clear conditions before walking back to Broadford.JohnW23/04/1981

From Kilmarie car park - track into Srath na Creitheach - free format ascent to ridge west of Sgurr nan Each - Clach Glas - Bla Bheinn - return to car park. Bit scary in the Srath when a low flying RAF jet caused some rock fall higher up, otherwise a wonderful day's scrambling and late finish. With Richard and Cathy.richard6910/07/1979

Used the Elgol post bus from Broadford as far as a point near Robostan. With my son, Jonathan. We walked on the footpath that goes towards Camasunary and then climbed up the south ridge of Blaven to reach the SW Top of Blaven and then the main summit. We went back a little way before finding a way down the western slopes into Srath na Creitheach. We joined the path that goes through Glen Sligachan to the Sligachan Hotel. We had to hurry to catch the last bus from Sligachan Hotel to Broadford.pwbellarby31/07/1978
