14.4 miles 3064ft walk, start at Loch An Daimh Glorra Dam to Meall Buidhe, Garbh Mheall, Meall Nan Aighean, Meall Cruinn and Meal A' Phuill. | stephenbuda | 12/09/2023 |
From Bridge of Gaur as staying at Bridge of Gaur Guesthouse. Along the easy to follow tracks all the way through the forest path and the E approach. Newer OS Map shows a smaller track continuing S and we followed this exactly on the map though from 8.8km - 10.2km this was overrun by sphagnum moss but it did reappear at 10.2km. At 750m we left the track to head straight up to Meall a' Phuill which was relatively easy then from there followed the cairns to Meall Buidhe SE Top where we picked up the main path. Ran the main path over Meall Buidhe to Garbh Mheall before dropping off to the NW towards the waterfalls. Hard drop down through the heather but definitely possible and boulders in the river at the bottom make it easy to pick up the path to the W. Easy track all the way back. 24km total. Brilliant. Sunny with GFE. | Fionalevey | 06/08/2023 |
Route from dam car park. Meall a' Phuill, Meall Buidhe SE Top, Meall Buidhe, Garbh Mheall. Traverse to Meall Buidhe West Top, Meall Cruinn, Creag Riabhach, then traverse to Meall nan Ruag, Carabad and return via Meall nan Aighean. Descent SE to reach road along N side of Dam Mainly dry with good views, quite cold in the wind. | RobertP | 17/07/2023 |
With Eve. An extension of the walk to Meall Buidhe, as was just a short distance from the munro and it was the inviting final summit on the ridge. Had an excellent view of the snow covered side of the ridge with the Ben Lawers group and Tarmachan ridges in the background. Sheltered and spectacular, we stopped for lunch. | RufusHodge | 04/03/2023 |
