From Trollaval. Not too bad at all. A family of wild goats seen at the baelach.Owen B19/06/2018
Day 1 of two-day backpack from Kinloch. Coire Dubh - Hallival - Askival - Trollaval - Ainshval - Sgurr nan Gillean - Harrisdavidpettit8427/05/2018
From Kinloch via Hallival, with nephew Andrew Purkiss, and Steve Lewis. A full traverse intended but rain and high winds put paid to that. We cut the walk short heading for Beinn nan Stac and off.jonglew03/05/2018
With MVW after Ainshval took more direct line across Bealach an Oir to ascend Askival by W ridge where Manx Shearwaters were and returned same route back to base in increasing darkness and deteriorating weather to end a very long day.Frank07/04/2018
After Hallival- magnificent walking and views as far as the top of Askival, helped by a few cairns where one drops below the N ridge on the E side. The W ridge down to Bealach an Oir was not so fine, and the line down seems to go a bit S of the ridge; a deliberate move back to the ridge as the ground became a little less steep gave a satisfying finish; traverse of Atlantic Corrie to get back to Kinloch worked OK and had good supplies of water in remarkably dry conditions. The last 1.5 miles back to Kinloch is on a very fast, well made path.pwheeler02/06/2017

From camp in Glen Dibidil, with Mora, 3 other tops also.BLACKHILL01/06/2016
Had planned the full round utilising the Saturday morning and evening ferries but part way decided I had a good chance of not making the evening ferry so cut short at Trallibhall. But a good day for all that. Cam back following day for rest of ridgedickscroop28/05/2016
24th Solo. Dry, but windy with strong gusts, and cloud base varying between 700m and 900m. Attempted full circuit of Rum Cuillin from Kinloch returning via Dibdil coastal path. Terrain hard going, but scrambling sections fun. Ran out of time so needed to turn off the ridge early before attempting Ainshval.RGibbs22/07/2015
MMC trip to Rum. Day 3. Perfect day for traverse as overcast, light wind, high cloud. Technically easy but long ascent from final top and a dreadfully boggy walk out the Papadil/ Dibidil track. 13 hoursalexmaclennan18/05/2015

Mad one day dash w Jenx due to weather forecast, dire Sun-Tues so early boat Sat and scamper round Rum Cuillin tops and back for last boat home. Great hills, all Corbetts, Graham and odd other top for good measure. Ok traversing lines between cola made for quicker return to start.nordicstar14/09/2013

Finally to Rum! with Darren during a brief heatwave for a dream 40km peak fest around the island in an enjoyably tough 26 hours between ferries, travelling KIMM style with a wild overnight camp half way round. The fun straightforward scrambling began here.Chris Pearson25/07/2012
Best weather of the year. Climbed with brother from Kinloch, took a bad short cut on way back from summit to coast path cutting down through deep heather which resulted in me performing a good few forward rolls.Columba26/05/2012
Epic islands week with Sarah, camping/castle combination. Day wasn't looking good so only planned for Askival. Turned out brilliant, which was annoying, could have gone on but would have been ridiculously hard/late back. Oh well.Colinmac200506/05/2012

Visit of Highland Geological Society to Rum. Initially with others but continued alone. Up path beside Allt Slugan a' Choilich into Coire Dubh and then SE to col with point 411m. Went up NW ridge to summit of Hallival and down W ridge. Up N ridge of Askival and down W ridge to Bealach an Oir. Up E ridge of Trallval. Two tops on Trallval. A bit of a scramble from the first top to the second, higher one, but not difficult. Returned to Bealach an Oir and contoured tediously round the head of Atlantic Corrie to get back to Coire Dubh.pwbellarby21/04/2012
