The Glen Lyon Horseshoe from Invervar, following the estate instruction to do the route in a clockwise direction, taking in the 4 Munros and most of the Tops. Parking in the car park is now reserved for residents in the summer season, so all walkers must use the large layby 1 km to the west. Visited Carn Gorm, An Sgorr, Meall Garbh, Meall Garbh E Top, Meall Luaidhe, Meall a'Bharr, Carn Mairg, Meall Liath, Meall na Aighean E Top, Meall na Aighean, Meall na Aighean W Top. Splendid weather with views from Ben Nevis to Ben Macdhui. 27km with 1700m ascent, taking 10 hours. | silveracorn_alan | 01/06/2023 |
Disappointing access arrangements (reported by others and still in place now) in Fortingall mean the obvious circuit of Meall na Aighean and associated Simms / Sub-Simms isn’t possible. My solution was to park at NN7146647746, cross the stile at NN7163447826, take the right track to a gate at NN7172647927. The gate gives access to tracks west / east from which a circuit of the hills can be made. Notes: I couldn’t find the footbridge marked at NN721496 on the 2:25000 map but the stream was fordable when I was there. Also the nearby bothy marked on the map is now a ruin. | BaggerGutt | 27/04/2023 |

After Creag Mhor, and from the East Top descended to cross the Allt Odhar at 700505 on way to Meall nan Eun. | NormanW | 15/05/2022 |
Round of 3 Simms from Fortingall: Creag Mhor, Meall nan Aighean East top, Meall nan Eun. Avoided farm by going in from west (729474): track into forestry then 2nd right - a fairly level track takes you most of the way to the hill track. Returned through farm (notice doesn't say no 'exit' from hill!) | PGCE | 07/07/2020 |
Parked at 729474 and then through the gate and up into the trees to the hillside. Some snow and very windy but clear. The start or winter! | curlebd | 27/10/2019 |
An anti-clockwise circui rt from Fortingall: Meall nan Eun; Meall na Aighean; Creagan Mhor. Parked close to main entrance to Glen Lyon house, this was the only gate open but had a 'No Hill Access'sign. While changing car came out of gate next to bridge and left it open - no sign so I took my chance and gained hiil track via the farm outbuildings with no people about. easy track onto ridge, then a short stretch of rough heathery ground until easier going to the summit. Pickled oput a line on opposite side to col between Meall an Aighean and its West top which worked out well, over West top and on to Creagan Nhor. Dropped down to join other track by the ruin and followed it to farm. Could not find a track oput to the road (tghere must be onem, finished up crossing a stile into a field (next to the pig!), across that and another style into cottage gardens, where a parked car was a good indication of track access. Followed track to Glen Lyon road about a kilometre west of start. Not sure t | dickscroop | 26/08/2019 |

Backpacking w Chris Henshall. After over 4 years not visiting Highlands! (I'd taken up road-running.) I had stayed in Pitlochry, presumably after driving my big silver Honda, bought 2006, up from Norfolk the day before (or via M&D). Parked at Fortingall. This evening hiked up and over first Munro then high camp at NN 693500. | NorfolkPT21 | 22/10/2007 |
