#4 of 4 from Muirshiel, my final Renfrewshire UA tump. Grass sw of stone built pillar, NS 31858 63739. Busy hill Sun pmRHW23/10/2016
The 1st of 8 hills today on my planned North Ayrshire completion route. I was kindly given a lift to the visitor centre by Karen who I stayed with in Lochwinnoch so an easy start through woodland (where information boards tell us it will be gradually converted into more biodiverse habitats. ie not just Spruce. Steep last section to summit and pretty windy but best view has to be of Craig Minnan.Dazingdale23/09/2016
Parked at the end car park in Muirshiel Country Park then took the track towards the mine to cross the River Calder at the second bridge where I then headed directly for Misty Law which involved a steep crossing of the Rathy Burn. Then onto East Girt Hill, contoured around HoS to West Girt Hill before having a break at Hill of Stake where there was a lovely cooling breeze on a very warm sunny day. A direct return route to the bridge via an easier/higher crossing of the Rathy Burn then on to bag the pretty Windy Hill before returning to the car, a bit hot and dehydrated.Dugswell201/06/2016
