park at track entrance, along track for 200m then up to the top a few bumps west and north east of the trig seem higher. | robertphillips | 13/02/2018 |
4th hill of a rainy day route from Maybole to Girvan, climbing Knockbrake (plus Craigdow out and back) Kirk and Quarrel Hill, dropping onto a minor road near a stretch of woodland, stopping off under a large Beech tree where I had food and changed my socks turning at Drummuck onto another mninor road and where it drops away near Craighead I climbed a gate and up gorse bank up over another fence past skittish cows to the TRig and over to the highest point SW of the trig. I got 168.50m at NS2252 01325. Descent Sw to large field, followed edge then across to railway bridge to B741, climbing fence into field with crops but used tractor tracks to cross over to the Baron's stone of Kilochan. Onwards to next Hill: Saugh Hill. | Dazingdale | 15/05/2017 |
Lots of little bumps around the trig, not sure which was the highest. | Colin Crawford | 03/06/2016 |
Good roadside verge parking NW of road to High Craighead farm. Gate on S side of road, across pasture, aiming for field high point and the gap in the gorse. Over fence, boggy section, past gorse, over another fence into pasture around the summit. Lots of lovely little knolls to explore. | Minto | 03/06/2016 |
P at start of track to High Craighead. About 300m up the road go through gate and onto access to top field. Trig and Highland Coos. | chrisbien | 18/02/2016 |
