Mast track starts about 400m E of Achaphubuil pillar box. Followed track to near trig & mask along ridge to summit. Good views when you can't see the paper mill.rogreeves28/09/2023
From Stronchreggan as an anti-clockwise circuit with neighbouring Corbett. Beautiful sunny day but a chill in the stiff breeze. Rounsfell24/05/2023

Solo trip; breezy with showers, after a wet morning. Standard route up the mast track. Noise from Corpach paper mill very noticeable. I parked at the E end of the layby opposite the row of houses, a bit closer than 400m to start.Invicta1416/05/2022
RHS AGM & Dinner. Parked at post box in Achaphubuil and walked 400m towards FW to gain viewpoint track. Up to mast on stony track then along ridge to summit. Magnificent views all round. Trip 150 minsCoinneach18/09/2021
RH Soc Meet at Fort William. Typical Fort William rainy day. Steep track to mast and straightforward in mist to summit.Crumblie217/09/2021
With Sal via Fort William Camusnagaul passenger Ferry on way to Corbett. Challenging to get back for ferry in 6h surprisingly.davechaffey03/08/2021
Followed the mast track up to the trig pillar then easy ground to the summit.KevPalmer25/07/2021
From the Corbett. Very pleasant and easy going walking compared to many hills in the area, panoramic views all the way, hints of a path much of the way. Descent to Stronchreggan not as bad as expected, grassy, not too steep, no awkward fences or walls.Owen B29/05/2021
Parked on A861 in layby near Sron a Chreagain - Fine track into Gleann Sron a Chreagain - turned North to follow Allt Tarsuinn - Corran Dubh then ascent to to the summit of Meall an t-Slamain. Continued to Trig at 291m with fine views across For William to the Nevis Range - Returned contouring the north side of the hill and back down into the Gleann Sron a Chreagain - Highland Cows and a Cuckoo for company.briandavies28/04/2021
19 degrees, overcast, still, humid, cloud hovering around higher tops, obvious route with Bag For Life. Abiding memory will be getting bombarded by deer keds that got worse as we climbed and were swarming round the summit. We descended as fast as possible, 25 degrees on return. 2 hours 45 minutes.Wycombe Wanderer14/08/2020
With Bolton. Good views of Loch Linnhe & Fort William - The Ben was mostly in mist.ger24/10/2019
Parked up near post box in Achaphubuil. Access via mast track to trig point then to summit cairn which was surprisingly ok going despite being wet underfoot. 3 hours with Ger. Clear and sunny after rain earlier.bolton24/10/2019
A sneaky little Marilyn in a gale, but at least the rain kept off. Good parking near the post box at Ach a'Phubuil. Up the vehicle track which becomes a nasty, stony, resurfaced path up to the mast, but you can walk on easy ground along the edge. Cut off on a squidgy ATV track just before the mast, but it runs out at the top of the bump. Easy going weaving around bumps in the ridge, and easy to keep to the lee side in a gale. Good view of Ben Nevis and the Mamores; less pleasant looking at the urban sprawl below.Gill23/10/2019
Access road to mast from Achaphubuil, then up NE ridge to summit. Back more directly to Achaphubuil.Winterfloodian04/10/2019

Parked by jetty at Camusnagaul. Took woodland trail up to a gate, then climbed steeply up to the aerial through the crags. Then up south-west ridge over various minor tops to the summit. Varied route of descent by using aerial track north-east to the A 861 and then back south along road to the jetty. With BC, RP and DB.Man of Kernow102/10/2016

Up the mast track, back more directly. Two sweet highland cows at the start.jenx08/03/2016
From road to north, parked at start of aerial track GR 083760. Good track then ATV trail all way on easy angled slope to aerial/trig. Then direct ridge to summit. After initial descent took a direct line back to track at 150m then return to start point. 1 hr return trip.nordicstar08/03/2016
up from stronchreggan on shortish grass.robertphillips22/11/2015
from the access rd to the mast which is quite rough and then along the ridge with breathtaking views though the Ben had cloud cover. Parked at the disused leisure centre and walked back 400m along the pavement. The pulp mill was noisy. 100th new Marilyn of yearThearlaichdubh25/09/2015

Parked beyond ferry/pier near houses. Follow road up to mast, then hillside. Dry, sunny, sharp wind, mild, good views.iangalbraith14/04/2014
Started from shores of Loch Linnie, up the good track to the mast and trigpoint at 291m and then undulating but easy terrain (for a highland hill) making the rest of the height. Highlight is the view up the Great Glen and back down Loch Linnie to Lismore.Columba03/07/2013

Parked at Stronchreggan. Mizzling rain. In full rain gear, steady plod up on rough grass, through a burnt area into mist. Continued up steeply but easily around to top. 12.00. Sturdy cairn on heathery tussock. No view.arranc12/07/2009
