From Lighthouse car park. Cloud had risen above all summits in view and a toposcope below revealed that The Merrick was further away than Strangford Lough; Slieve Donard clearly visible and IOM impressive. I walked back via Lagvag, Scotlands 'Lands End' which I had to myself and left reluctantly- a marvellous place and a must visit.pwheeler19/03/2024

Last of the four cardinal points of mainland Scotland. Great ice cream in the tea room. Dozens of tourists around didn't realise collecting TUMPS was so popular.Play2End22/07/2018
Unnatural looking grassy mound outside of Lighthouse perimeter wall with concrete circle, possible aerial base. Topograph nearby. Large car park with cafe. Lovely sunny day to stand on the most southerly point in Scotland at Gallie Crag.Denise 25/03/2018
First hill of the day on a tour of The Rhins. Small mound to N of the Lighthouse. Had a prod and dig for the trig surface block, but nothing found. With TJ and AC.jonglew25/03/2018
Short walk from car park. Great views, blue skies and sunshine. I lift a recently cut square of turf only to find a concrete stay point as those before had and not the coveted burried block.RichardM25/03/2018
Beautiful!thekirkie pirate20/02/2018
A long loop from East Muntloch Croft B&B climbing High Slock Fell then following Southern coastline till reaching the cafe at Gallie Craig where I had lunch before climbing up to the knoll as stated. Highlights en-route were the Standing stone at NX13390 31267, the scrambling at West Tarbert Bay and the peaceful nature of the trail from Portavadie to Maryport Bay. My gps recorded the summit as 88m @ NX15688 30439. I continued on to Lagvag thenthe Mull of Galloway trail into Drummore (for Soup and coffee at the Ship Inn) then via Kildonan and Glen Lee before using minor road to arrive back at the B&B. Completed topo section: Rhinns to the River Cree.Dazingdale07/10/2017
very wild and windy, high point just north of the lighthouse, having arrived in the dark to sleep the night there. Starry night given way to very hazy dawn and pretty choppy seasvegibagger27/09/2017
Walked up with Mart. Fantastic spot and great coastal walks. Saw seals, roe deer and gannets. Amazing part of the world which is well worth a visit. Cheap camping (no toilets) at East and West Tarbet.John Eley28/08/2017
From CP. The HP is probably the least interesting bit of this fascinating Mull.summitsup04/07/2017

Climbed up the lighthouse to inspect the light and have a walk outside around top of lighthouse. Then had a walk down to the foghorn, RSPB building and then the knoll.Dugswell208/10/2016
Nearly blown off the summit on an otherwise fine day. The lighthouse exhibition gives a really interesting sense of what a lighthouse keeper's life was like.Nick Down129/07/2016
Obvious top, whether manmade or not. Pleasant couple of hours, visiting lighthouse tower and exhibition, RSPB visitor centre etc. Car park busy, but still a peaceful place.Crib Goch26/07/2016
