| Parked at bell end at Lagalochan. Upgraded entrance, and a large turning area below the cottage. Track has a locked bar across, Tilhill . One of the small streams has wiped away the culvert ( storm babete). So long legs needed ….or knees. Using 1:50 mapping, the last turn uphill does not show as obvious. Though there is a difference from track to firebreak. You will reach the burn. Choose your side and accept that you may need to jig across. I opted for SW, tho did jig across a couple of times. You will also need to RUMBA underneath the trees. It is very steep and wet. When you reach the strainer post….it continues to be steep. However i had great views as it was a cracking day. | From good parking at end of track to Lagalochan. Along the grassy track to its end; a bit further through a horizontal firebreak leads to the burn and steep, wide firebreak. Up the W side until trees close in, then criss-crossing the burn until waterfalls, where the E side is easiest. Up to an open area. The main SW burn leads to a horribly steep exit from the forestry but at least there's a strainer to climb the deer fence. Up to the top on a bearing in thick mist, steep and tussocky, dodging the crags above the lochan to the S, then E to the top. Down via the minor burn (NW in descent, SE in ascent), much easier. | 13th top of 16 on a 24km traverse from Ford to the Glenmore Country Hotel in Kilmelford, climbing Dun Dubh, Cnoc Torran, Sron na Saobhaidhe, Cruach nan Dearc, Cnoc Sgliatach, Cnoc na Moine, Creag Luaragain South top, Cruach an Eachlaich, Creag Luaragain Bheag, Creag Luaragain Mhor West top and Creag Luaragain Mhor continuing Nne to beak out of forest then direct to the Cairn on top of Cnoc Lochan Mhich Chuaraig, before heading over to this top recording 495m @ NM 89280 10262. | From 890121, up the forestry track as far as its corner, then a short but steep and uncomfortable descent to the deer fence above the north bank of the Duchara Burn. Followed the fence up to 330m; the terrain is wet and uneven, the grass is long and covered in forest debris. Finally there is an open hill climb to a great viewpoint. | Topographer57 | 02/10/2016 |

| From the minor road / forest track cross roads. Can drive 150m to locked gate. Then track to 190m and road bend then unpleasant wet, scrubby ground alongside fence with brash to contend with. | Parked at Maolachy. RW suggests that this is a quite pleasant approach. On wide forest road to corner and the stream that one is supposed to follow uphill through the forest. On which bank? First 200m over a felled area, each step risking a possible twisted ankle. Then over two deer fences - one old and one new. Marginally easier on left bank through uneven rough tussock, thrashing through waist high bracken and dodging large trees that had over flown from forest. When trees got too close had to re-climb deer fence to make progress. Very steep final section and a 500' clamber on all fours on lank grass and swamp plants to top at 11.45.
