Ggate across tarmac. Parked at farm followed. Tarmac and then onto atv. Off pistbe to easier northern slopes. Ridge walkto trig. Sloped off hill avoiding crags. Schelp through wet ground to find an atv which linked back to track on map | VerySlowPlodder | 16/03/2024 |
From the start of the track at Stroneskar. A grassy ramp and ATV tracks continue where the track ends, running to the foot of the summit ridge. | Nick Down1 | 09/06/2023 |
Parked at Museum CP in Kilmartin and walk past hotel and houses and up to new house and on to near track end. Then direct line to summit over very rough ground. Good views. Back by a line further west to near new house. Car to car 110 mins | Coinneach | 24/05/2023 |
Parked beside track start at Stroneskar. Some faint ATV tracks after track end on map. | duchally | 14/09/2022 |
A fairly direct route from Creag Bhreac on an unmarked forestry track for some of the way up. On to Cnoc Barmolloch. | sclater | 05/01/2022 |
From track south of Stroneskar. Approached hill from east over a series of steep crags and finally up a gully just to left of summit. | Lionel Bidwell | 17/10/2021 |
3rd Tump of 11 on a circuit from Kilmartin, approached from Creag Bhreac. Headed back down on track to overcome sheer cliffs then break in terrain between rocky outcrop to the SE then continuing on line to summit meandering around newly planted trees. Continuation Nne to Cnoc Barmolloch... | Dazingdale | 07/09/2021 |
Used Gill's route. | ger | 21/07/2021 |
Up the Ballibrad track from Kilmartin, taking the first available right turn, which leads to the west side of Maol achadh-bheinn. A quick climb up its grassy slopes then over a well-built stone wall to its neighbouring North Top. Animal tracks help route-find amongst the complex terrain to Beinn Bhan, the higher level ground perhaps being the easiest to navigate. Then baby-heads and bracken on the NW passage to Creag Bhreac, a handy stone track making the final climb to its top much easier than would otherwise be the case. The steady rise to Barr Mor is relatively hazard free, then simply a drop down back to the Ballibrad track and the historical and touristic delights of Kilmartin. | summitter | 16/05/2021 |
Been up this hill a couple of times but like most of my hills only beginning to log-that will take some time....
Was a beautiful crisp day so the bog was firm. Went up from Kilmartin via farm track, continuing north up wee glen from corner of track at NR 844 994 on RHS of burn then headed up the hill eastwards from approx NR 847 999 using deer tracks. Crosses a wall and couple of new LRTs then headed for gap at NR 852 998. Pass through then bear left to zigzag in wall, cross then over the bog and up to summit. Returned via SW ridge then across to wall and over at approx NR 851 995, down RHS of stream, bearing NW for 100m then SW down small valley that eventually rejoins track back to Kilmartin. | Heather TS | 04/01/2021 |

South from the B840. Spectacular 360 views. | DavieRuts | 02/02/2019 |
From Stroneskar parked at the start of track heading up after the gate, could easily park closer to farm before the gate. Followed track, then up onto the side of the steep section to summit trig. Damp, clear summit but low cloud everywhere. | N.Morters | 26/01/2019 |
From gate at NR 853 009 (locked), track continues to NR 8523 0022. | carole engel | 15/05/2018 |
Parked near the end of the track S of Stroneskar and followed it up the hill onto the plateau below the hill. More or less direct line to the top, weaving around craggy bits at first, then up a bouldery, mossy gully, looks like bog at the top but good dry grass to walk on. Superb views. | Gill | 13/05/2018 |
3/3. Good views. | PGCE | 05/08/2017 |
From the north, convenient parking at 856011, ground mostly good by local standards. Thanks vegibagger. | Topographer57 | 31/05/2017 |
From Kilmartin. | Chris Peart | 11/04/2017 |
After north top of Maol Achadh-bheinn. Along west and north sides of Creag an Fhithich to junction of fences about 851995, then across flattish (and wettish) ground, up to ridge, and so to trig at top. Sunnier than earlier, some snow still in patches, views to Jura, Scarba, and Mull. Down westwards, along line of fence to junction, then south-westwards to track up from Kilmartin, making for 11086 Bàrr Mor. | mainnirnamfiadh | 22/03/2017 |
from the north, parked at gate, track to cottage then straight up. | robertphillips | 19/06/2015 |
From the unnamed road to the north east up the track shown only on the 1:25,000 map and then over shortish grass and a scramble up to the summit. Back down the ridge and back across to to the track. 2 hours return and 6km. | cmacpherson | 16/06/2015 |
Followed the track from just south of Stroneskar to the sheepfold shown on the printed 1:25000. Gate might be closed, but not locked. Road seems to be public. Plenty of parking on the grass at start of track. Track then continues to just under the north east ridge at 862003, shown on online OS maps and visible on Google maps aerial photo. Climb grassy slopes and through small crags to summit. | andy macp | 16/06/2015 |

After the Tump of Creag Bhreac. Heather and boggy mess, and false summit on approach. Lovely descent of the N ridge on short smooth grass - the way to go, esp if you can link in from the argocat tracks. (I didn't and went very steeply downhill a side of burn). | Minto | 06/06/2015 |
With Mora, from Kilmartin | BLACKHILL | 29/09/2014 |

Ascended from the B840. | JohnW | 05/04/2009 |
Over gate on newly improved buggy track steeply up prow of hill to continue as green way onto open moor. Made way over spongy uneven heathery lumpy stuff to new fence. Followed this uphill and climbed over and slog up to visible horizon to see column on next rise 400m further. 9.00. No cairn. Islay SCD weekend in Bowmore. | arranc | 28/04/2006 |
Up and down from main road before Eurach. | Eddie | 10/03/2004 |
